Reporting to: Group Financial Controller

Location: Dublin (Hybrid – 3 days per week in office)

Scope: UK, Europe, US, Canada and international eCommerce operations, including management of 19 indirect tax registrations and OSS reporting obligations.

About the Role

We are seeking a commercially minded Indirect Tax Manager to support and develop the indirect tax function across our international eCommerce business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a tax professional looking to broaden their experience across international VAT/GST compliance, eCommerce operations, systems, and commercial advisory within a fast-growing global business.

The role is responsible for supporting indirect tax compliance, onboarding of new clients and marketplaces, coordination of external tax providers, and ongoing improvement of indirect tax processes and controls across international operations.

The successful candidate will work closely with Finance, Operations, Technology, Commercial and external tax advisors to ensure scalable, compliant, and efficient indirect tax processes that support continued international growth.

Tasks

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the complete indirect tax compliance lifecycle across international eCommerce operations, including 19 indirect tax registrations, OSS reporting obligations, and coordination of external compliance providers across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support onboarding of new clients, brands, and marketplace channels by advising on indirect tax setup, registration requirements, and operational implications.
  • Assist with indirect tax requirements relating to US sales tax and Canadian GST/HST obligations, working closely with external advisors and service providers where required.
  • Monitor VAT/GST and sales tax registration thresholds, OSS obligations, and marketplace tax requirements relating to cross-border online sales activity globally.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Operations, Commercial, and Technology teams to support scalable and commercially practical indirect tax processes.
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors and compliance providers to ensure timely and effective support across all territories.
  • Ensure accurate VAT/GST/sales tax determination and rate configuration across eCommerce and order management systems supporting international sales activity.
  • Support tax governance, process documentation, and controls to ensure ongoing compliance and audit readiness.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and enhanced reporting across the indirect tax function.
  • Monitor international legislative and digital reporting developments that may impact the business and provide practical guidance to stakeholders.
  • Support audits, reconciliations, due diligence, and regulatory reviews relating to indirect tax matters.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to support international business growth and operational scalability.

Requirements

What You Bring to the Role

  • 3–6+ years’ experience in indirect tax / VAT, either in practice or industry.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and EU VAT regulations and cross-border eCommerce transactions, with exposure to US sales tax and Canadian GST/HST environments preferred.
  • Experience managing VAT/GST registrations, OSS/IOSS frameworks, and multi-jurisdiction indirect tax compliance across international markets.
  • Ability to communicate tax concepts clearly to non-tax stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to balance compliance requirements with operational practicality.
  • Experience working with external advisors and outsourced compliance providers.
  • Strong attention to detail and process improvement mindset.
  • Comfortable operating independently within a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Experience gained within a Big 4, professional practice, or large-scale international indirect tax environment preferred.

Desirable

  • Experience in eCommerce, retail, marketplaces, or international digital businesses.
  • Exposure to US sales tax, Canadian GST/HST, and wider international VAT/GST environments.
  • Experience supporting tax automation, digital reporting, or systems improvement initiatives.
  • Experience working with ERP, OMS, or eCommerce platform tax configurations.
  • Experience supporting indirect tax operations across high-volume international eCommerce environments.
  • Big 4 or professional practice training background.
  • AITI CTA or equivalent qualification.
