Our client is an established, mid-sized metals trading company in Zug.
To strenghten the Quality Control desk, we are looking for an experienced
Quality Control Analyst / WSMD
Tasks
Job Purpose:
administration and control of the quantity and quality of all metals purchase and sales (base metals, concentrates) of the company, ensuring to minimize all risk in in Loading/Disport location, keeping record of the deals and taking actions when troubles related with weighing, sampling and analyzing are happening .
Job Duties and responsibilities:
- Based on an overview of all deals, ensure our shipments are well nominated on time at load port and/or disport.
- Instruct which surveyor to nominate for each deal, which laboratories to be used and what to be analyzed for the correct settlement with our Buyer/Seller.
- Identify potential risks in WSMD operations when a deal is closed and flag it to related departments with suggestions to minimize risks
- Review of the contractual terms in the stage of contract Draft for clauses related to quality/quantity settlement.
- Review the quality/quantity difference between Purchase and Sales and alert other departments for further actions to be taken.
- Coordinate the data necessary for the settlement in assays with Buyer and Seller. Under the process of Assays Exchange.
- Keep a historic record of the deals for further identification of trends or statistics that will be needed for future decisions.
- Review Weight/Sampling operational protocols at different destinations locations and provide feedback if needed to minimize risks for the company
- Maintain communication with the surveyors of different locations in order to ensure the operations are being executed in correct manner.
- Communication with laboratories about reception of samples, and target dates when it is necessary.
- Update and coordinate the update with operation department of the data in the system
- Provide feedback to operation department for any query related with WSMD/QQC aspects
Requirements
Required Qualifications
- Necessary at least 5 years of experience in quality/quantity department in a metals trading company for non-ferrous concentrates.
- Experience in blending of concentrates operations and ideal to have experience in warehousing.
- Ideal a good understanding of Concentrates operation department. Logistic/hedge/procedures.
- Good understanding of weighing, sampling, moisture determination and sampling preparation protocols.
- Advance level of Excel, Outlook, and adaptability for new internal software.
- Advanced English, and ideal Spanish/Chinese.
Working Conditions.
- 40 hours per week in Zug, Switzerland at office. Under Swiss law conditions
