Data Architect (ERP Systems) - Budapest (Freelance)

We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to join a major ERP transformation program for one of our clients in Budapest. In this key role, you will shape and drive the company’s enterprise data strategy, working closely with stakeholders across ERP, BI, and Master Data. Your main focus will be to translate business goals into actionable data architecture, governance, and integration frameworks.

• Start: 01.09.2025
• Duration: 7 months (extension options available)

Key Responsibilities:

• Align data initiatives with corporate objectives (e.g. revenue growth, inventory optimization)
• Support the development and execution of the corporate data strategy
• Lead the design of target data architectures and long-term roadmaps
• Define and implement data governance frameworks and best practices
• Communicate complex architecture topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Guide and mentor data engineers, modelers, and other technical staff
• Produce clear, practical deliverables (e.g. data migration strategies, analytics solutions, roadmaps)

Expected Deliverables:

• A structured framework for data strategy execution, including prioritization criteria and timelines.
• Draft of target data architecture with roadmap
• Enterprise software data architecture design
• Enterprise software data integration strategy
• Data migration architecture
• Master data management strategy
• Data governance and quality frameworks
• Metadata management architecture
• Data security design including access control and compliance

Collaboration & Reporting:

• Reporting line to the Data and Reporting Stream Lead
• Close collaboration with: Enterprise Architecture, Horizon ERP and Integration teams, BI leads and other project workstreams
• Regular workshops and alignment sessions with stakeholders
• Planning, tracking, and documentation handled via Azure DevOps

• Proven experience as a Data Architect in ERP environments (e.g. SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics)
• Deep knowledge of data modeling, data integration, data migration, and master data management
• Experience in developing data governance and data quality frameworks
• Familiarity with enterprise software architecture and large-scale transformations
• Cloud platform experience (Azure, AWS, or GCP) is a plus
• Fluency in both Hungarian and English is required
