Data Architect / IAM Architect

Location: Helsinki (Hybrid work model)

At Serbyte IT, we are seeking to strengthen our team with two key profiles for a strategic project at ECHA (European Chemicals Agency):

• Data Architect
• Identity and Access Management (IAM) Architect

Both roles will focus on architectural design and oversight to deliver scalable, secure, and business-aligned solutions leveraging Microsoft Azure technologies.

1. Data Architect

Key Responsibilities:

• Design scalable data architectures based on a federated data mesh and domain-driven approach, aligned with ECHA’s enterprise architecture.
• Develop data products that are secure, interoperable, and business-capability aligned.
• Oversee data integration pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Synapse Analytics.
• Optimize Azure resource and cost usage applying FinOps best practices.
• Define data modeling standards to support advanced analytics, AI/ML projects, and reporting.
• Implement data governance, metadata management, and cataloging using Microsoft Purview.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity and infrastructure teams to ensure data quality, availability, and security.

2. IAM Architect

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and oversee the implementation of IAM solutions in Azure (Azure AD, Conditional Access, PIM, RBAC).
• Align IAM strategy with ECHA’s enterprise architecture and security policies.
• Define policies for authentication, authorization, identity lifecycle, and federation in hybrid and cloud environments.
• Apply FinOps principles to ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective IAM solutions.
• Coordinate with infrastructure, security, and application teams for seamless identity integration.
• Develop roadmap and migration plan toward a modern Azure-based IAM solution.
• Ensure regulatory compliance including GDPR and EU security frameworks.

• Candidates must be citizens of the European Union or hold a valid work permit authorizing them to work in Helsinki, Finland

1. Data Architect

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Data Architect or senior engineer in equivalent roles.
• Proficient English at C1 level (CEFR), both spoken and written.
• Strong expertise in cloud-native architectures and data mesh concepts.
• Hands-on experience with Azure data services.

2. IAM Architect

Requirements:

• At least 5 years’ experience in senior IAM architecture or engineering roles.
• English at C1 level (CEFR).
• Proven expertise in Azure IAM solutions and governance.

• Full-time position
• Hybrid model: 2 days onsite at ECHA offices in Helsinki
• Salary: up to €75,000/year (B2B), and for freelancers up to €580/day
