About this Role:

Ribbon Bio is seeking an accomplished Business Development Manager (BDM) to join our expanding commercial team. The successful candidate will execute a territory sales plan working in partnership with the Head of Sales, Product, Marketing, and Customer Success organizations to identify, build, and nurture partner relationships that complement our commercialization strategy and objectives.

We are seeking growth-minded, customer centric individuals who are self-motivated, team oriented, highly communicative, and enjoy working in a fast-paced start up environment built on uncompromising trust, integrity, and accountability.

Tasks

  • Write and Execute a Business Plan that will enable attainment of commercial goals and objectives.
  • Strategically prospect and engage pharma/biopharma stakeholders to identify new business opportunities and advance to closure.
  • Draft, negotiate, and close strategic, pricing, and supply agreements with key partners.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for sales-related needs. Maintain regular connectivity with the customer base to ensure their satisfaction.
  • Proactively identify and engage pre- and post-sales support resources to complement the advancement and closure of business.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasting to leadership and perform consistent opportunity management within CRM systems.
  • Monitor industry and application trends, compile customer feedback, and partner with internal stakeholders to hone go to market strategies.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of direct sales and/or Business Development experience in pharma/biopharma markets.
  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Cell and Gene Therapy, mRNA Vaccine, Contract Development Manufacturing, and Contract Research Organizations to support drug discovery and development
  • Bachelor’s degree in a life science discipline (biology, molecular biology, immunology, biochemistry, genetics/genomics, genome engineering, etc.) required, a graduate degree in these disciplines is a plus.
  • Exceptional organizational, time management, written and verbal communication skills
  • Preferred locations: Greater Boston MA, San Francisco CA, San Diego CA, Raleigh NC areas.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of Office 365 tools, including Powerpoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams. Comfort and familiarity with Salesforce.com.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%. Includes both domestic (US) and limited international (European) travel.
  • Passionate about enabling customer success without compromising personal or professional integrity.
  • Ability to apply critical thinking skills to efficiently problem-solve customer issues via email and phone.
