About the Company

Join a fast-growing, profitable affiliate-driven consumer tech venture based in Berlin. With a proven business model and consistent seven-figure revenue, the company is not only profitable but also backed by top-tier European and US venture capital firms following a successful Series A. Their mission is to make smart shopping effortless, empowering consumers to save money through a seamless, AI-enabled, data-driven online experience. Operating with a lean, agile team and a product-led culture, the company is now entering its next growth phase. This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-performing business on the path to scale.

About the Role

As Managing Director, you’ll take full operational ownership of the business and lead it into its next phase of growth. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines strategic direction with daily execution. You’ll be responsible for streamlining operations, driving commercial outcomes and managing investor relationships. You’ll inherit a working product, a stable team, and a healthy balance sheet—your mission is to professionalise, optimise, and scale.

Tasks

  • Lead day-to-day operations across all departments, ensuring alignment, efficiency, and delivery against business goals.
  • Act as the primary liaison for investors, providing structured updates and transparent reporting.
  • Collaborate with the current founder during the handover phase and gradually assume ownership of the product roadmap.
  • Oversee financial planning, performance tracking, and budget management to support strategic decisions.
  • Manage and develop a small cross-functional team including a CTO, full-stack developers, and business development staff.
  • Ensure internal systems, reporting, and communications are professionalised and ready for due diligence or acquisition processes.
  • Drive commercial performance by optimising current affiliate and advertising partnerships, and exploring new revenue channels.
  • Shape and execute market expansion strategies, including international growth opportunities.
  • Coordinate with external marketing partners and freelancers to implement new marketing initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience in early-stage or lean startup environments, ideally in consumer tech, affiliate, or marketplace businesses.
  • Financially literate with strong data analysis and forecasting capabilities.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to build trust with investors and stakeholders.
  • A strategic thinker who’s equally comfortable executing at an operational level.
  • Previous experience managing small teams and working in cross-functional roles.
  • Structured, self-driven, and resourceful—comfortable working in ambiguity and moving fast.
  • Familiarity with product and technology teams; confident navigating discussions around tech, product features, and roadmaps.
  • Based in Berlin or open to frequent presence in Berlin for hands-on leadership.

Benefits

Substantial equity

This opportunity is ideal for someone with the skills of an eager individual, the ambition of a founder, and the grit to turn potential into performance. If you’re ready to lead with impact, this could be your moment.
