🟪 Podero is a fully funded 12-people seed-stage startup currently growing to ~20 people.

🟪 At Podero you’ll have a great support system around you. Our founders Chris and Moritz are both engineers and understand the intricacies of technical product decisions. Sebastian, our head of engineering has over 20 years of experience and is known for giving non-opinionated advice. Our team of engineers has worked on electricity and advertisement trading, heating system optimization, supply chain predictions, autonomous driving, oil-rig steering, payment software, and much more.

🟪 We started Podero after advising 20 apartment buildings to switch from oil & gas heating to heat pumps. We realized we could significantly reduce consumer energy costs by building software to steer electrical devices according to electricity markets. Since cheap power prices correlate with lower carbon emissions, we also measurably reduce the electricity’s CO2 intensity when saving consumers money. Theoretically, we could reduce 4.4% of all carbon emissions if rolled out on a global scale.

🟪 Podero is based in Vienna, Austria, and serves customers in DACH and Scandinavia.

Summary of the role

We’re looking for a mission-driven, ambitious, and high-performing builder to join us for the ride. We care about your ability to deliver great work and to be best-in-class in your specialism. We don’t expect you to be an expert in every subject right away as we work at the intersection of several disciplines. We do, however, expect that you are eager to learn and able to find great solutions to challenging problems.

As a Junior Product Manager at Podero, you are both an Engineer and a Business Analyst.

As a Business Analyst, you’ll work closely with Podero’s Head of Product to support in the definition of the technical aspects of our epics and user stories, supporting the engineering team in the understanding of the technical customer needs. You are a storyteller and communicator that can bridge the gap between our customer’s highly specialized trading or marketing department and the engineering team. You’re not necessarily a designer, but can draw up a wireframe of a new UI feature in Figma. You attend customer calls, as well as internal agile rituals.

As an Engineer, you will develop a deep understanding of how heat pumps, EV chargers and PV inverters work and are constantly on the lookout for new applications of our technology. You are able to explain the function of these devices to customers and our engineering team. You know your way around basic equations in Physics (P=V*I, but not E= m*c^2) and can work from first principles. You have a very good understanding of the energy industry and how the different energy markets operate. You know how to use monitoring tools, analyze data with tools like Grafana and generate reports for customers during pilot phases. You support the engineering team in the definition of the REST API contracts that our customers use to interact with our Platform and identify bugs and potential new features.
