## Tasks

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Software Engineer to become a central member of our DevOps team to work cross-functionally with our machine learning & data science teams. You will design, implement, and contribute to our API-first web applications and (micro)services. Thus, you will shape and run Peregrine’s backbone, our visual data pipelines, and architect, maintain and deploy the cloud infrastructure on which the services are powered by. 

Our data pipelines must handle millions of data points gathered by our intelligent video telematics solution. Your contributions will enhance our scaling capabilities in collecting, combining and mining all kinds of data in order to generate and provide insights to our customers in an intuitively accessible way.

## Requirements

*   Technical degree from a top tier university
*   Strong experience (4+ years) in designing, implementing and scaling data-driven services and pipelines (e.g. event-driven architectures, micro services architectures)
*   Excellent general proficiency in Python; additional languages, especially C++ or TypeScript would be a plus
*   Proficiency with design and development of web APIs and other web services using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI
*   Knowledge of big data, big data analytics databases (SQL and noSQL) and scalable data architectures
*   Familiarity with the Python data science ecosystem (numpy, pandas etc.) would be a plus
*   Proven knowledge (2+ years) in developing, orchestrating and maintaining the cloud infrastructure running the data services (e.g. experience on AWS, GCP or Azure with Kubernetes, Docker, Infrastructure As Code like Terraform, ...)
*   Proven knowledge (2+ years) of DevOps tasks and tools: CI/CD (e.g. Gitlab CI), scripting (e.g. Shell, Python,..), monitoring (e.g. Prometheus, ...)
*   Knowledge of version control with Git and collaborative software development workflows (e.g. in Gitlab, Github)
*   You develop with security and data privacy in mind
*   You have a strong feeling for clean code, well-tested codebases, and code reviews
*   You embody a collaborative, team-first mindset
