We are an early-stage Swiss startup developing a new onboard safety system for aviation. Our patented technology uses optical sensing and data intelligence to detect turbulence that is invisible today. The goal is to make air travel safer, more efficient, and more sustainable.
The project has reached TRL 6, and we are now entering the prototype phase. We are building a founding team that combines deep engineering know-how with a clear path to certification and commercialization.
Tasks
As CTO and Co-Founder, you will lead all technical aspects of development — from concept to certification. You will:
- Oversee system architecture, sensor integration, and testing.
- Manage prototype development in optics, mechanics, and data processing.
- Define safety and certification requirements with EASA/FAA and OEM partners.
- Build and guide the engineering team as we move from lab validation to flight testing.
- At this stage, you will work hands-on, side-by-side with the founders to bring the prototype to life.
Requirements
- Degree in aerospace engineering, optics, or physics, ideally with experience in avionics or sensing systems.
- Solid understanding of certification processes (DO-160, DO-178, or equivalent).
- Proven experience in hardware prototyping or productization of optical/mechanical systems.
- Practical mindset — comfortable working on both design and implementation.
- Interest in system safety, atmospheric physics, or flight dynamics.
- Based in Switzerland or open to relocation.
Benefits
- Co-founder equity and a decisive role in a high-impact aviation startup.
- Freedom to shape both the technology and the team.
- Collaboration with a small, skilled group of engineers and researchers.
- The opportunity to bring a first-of-its-kind sensing system into commercial aviation.
