As our wireless technologies continue to evolve and earn multiple awards, with funding for the next phase secured and strong commercial traction demonstrated, we are now looking to onboard a talented NTN Telecom Systems Engineer to join our engineering team in Luxembourg and contribute to the continued growth and success of our organization.

The role sits within our telecommunications engineering team and focuses on the development, adaptation, integration, and validation of 3GPP-based Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) protocol stack solutions for NB-IoT, LTE, and 5G NR.

Tasks

  • Participate in the development, adaptation and testing of the L1/L2/L3 protocol stack for Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) in NB-IoT, LTE, and 5G NR/.
  • Participate in building 5G NTN testbed including SDR and channel emulator.
  • Troubleshoot and enhance protocol stack (based on project needs) across different layers, including PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC, and NAS.
  • Stay up to date with the latest 3GPP standards and incorporate relevant advancements into solutions.
  • Work on developing technical reports and project milestone reports.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in telecom, with a focus on SatCom/NTN technologies and 3GPP standards.
  • Good programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux-based platforms and development tools.
  • Proficiency in continuous integration, version control tools, and debugging techniques.
  • Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English.
  • Already a resident in Europe or holds a European residence permit.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Expertise in wireless communication systems based on 3GPP standards (NB-IoT, 4G LTE, 5G NR).
  • Experience with non-terrestrial network protocol stack adaptation and architecture in 3GPP.
  • Experience with OAI/ SRS-RAN protocol stack is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of L1/L2/L3 modules (PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC, NAS, S1AP, NGAP, GTPC/U).
  • Knowledge of O-RAN architecture and functional split options.
  • Familiarity with SCF standards, including FAPI interfaces.
  • Experience in the development of L3 control plane entities such as RRC/RRM and NAS.
  • Background in embedded real-time software development for resource-constrained platforms such as ARM.
  • Hands-on experience in unit testing, validation, and debugging of protocol stacks.
