Omnisent is pioneering scalable acoustic sensing powered by AI — transforming audio into real-time intelligence.

We build hardware + software tailored for acoustic data, designed to extract insights from complex acoustic signals. Our proprietary ultra-low-power sonic devices capture and process acoustic signals in real-time, training what we call a Large Acoustic Model (LAM) — our foundation model built to decode the rich, messy, and untapped world of non-speech audio.

We’re starting with the manufacturing industry, applying our tech to compressed air systems — one of the most overlooked sources of energy waste. From there, we’re expanding into energy, defense, space, and smart cities — sectors where is the next frontier.

Tasks

Advanced Signal Processing

  • Implement and optimize advanced noise reduction, filtering, and quantization techniques to enhance signal clarity.
  • Extract meaningful statistical features from raw acoustic data to detect anomalies such as air leaks
  • Research and test sound algorithms (e.g., radar, time synchronisation) capable of localising, characterising and detecting leaks and sensors in complex, noisy industrial environments
  • Research and test sound algorithms inspired by non-destructive testing techniques to infer physical properties from surrounding environments

Data Generation and Optimization:

  • Develop compression algorithms and preprocessing techniques for efficient real-time data transmission on the edge
  • Generate synthetic audio datasets by mixing real signals with noise to support robustness testing

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with Mechatronics, IoT, and Machine Learning engineers to ensure our algorithms are transferable to real industrial environments
  • Contribute to design decisions around data collection and algorithm development
  • Establish best practices and documentation for continuous knowledge sharing and process optimization.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Acoustics, Signal Processing, Mathematics, Physics or a related field or 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • 2+ years in digital signal processing techniques, algorithm development, or related roles with a focus on acoustic applications.
  • Solid foundation of the underlying mathematics of acoustics and digital signal processing (e.g. sampling, digital signal processing, filtering, Fourier transform, noise reduction)
  • Solid Programming skills in Python for data visualization and algorithm development
  • Proactive & structured problem-solver with strong technical skills & ability to work both independently and in a team
  • Fluency in English
  • Valid EU work permit

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in a relevant technical discipline (e.g., Signal Processing, Audio Engineering, Acoustics, Electronic/electrical engineering, or a related field)
  • 4+ years of experience with acoustic signal processing and algorithm development, particularly within industrial or IoT applications, or in regards to acoustic signature analysis, real-time acoustic pattern recognition, and ultrasonic non-destructive testing techniques
  • German language skills

Join us in redefining how the world listens, understands, and responds through intelligent acoustic sensing.

In your cover letter, we’d love to hear about your personal interests, what drives you, why this role feels like the right fit — and most importantly, why Omnisent.
