The Role

The Senior Embedded Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, testing, certification and manufacturing process of addressable panels on emergency lighting, addressable fire alarm and central battery systems. You will work in a dynamic environment and be part of a workplace where your day to day will involve working as a team on world-class products.

Tasks

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Designing firmware solutions based on project requirements
  • Coding using C language
  • Contributing to schematic design and managing PCB layout
  • Contributing to firmware architecture and development, engineering tests and product validation
  • Drafting the technical documentation related to the firmware and hardware code (Doxygen, Confluence)

Requirements

What you bring to the team:

  • Master's or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, Applied Computer Science or related technical field
  • Proven industry experience in the end-to-end development life cycle, from the initial concept to production (including architecture, design, development, debugging, documentation, and validation)
  • Minimum 5 years of C coding experience in embedded firmware
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the field of electronics
  • Deep understanding of embedded architecture concepts (CPU core, internal and external memories, CPU peripherals)
  • Experience programming MCUs and RTOS such as FreeRTOS
  • Experience with Cortex-M Processors (M0, M0+, M3, M4, M7)
  • Experience identifying hardware requirements based on firmware requirements
  • Experience in version control (Git) and issues tracking (Jira)
  • Experience in designing schematics on analog, digital and power electronics
  • Experience in serial protocols (UART, SPI, I2C)
  • Ability to navigate, understand & adapt large existing codebases
  • Ability in risk assessment and problem solving during the product’s life cycle development
  • Ability to use block diagrams, conceptual sketches, pseudo-code and other techniques of project designing
  • Excellent team working skills is a must, both internally within the R&D department as well as across departments
  • Fluency in English both written and spoken

Nice to have:

  • Good knowledge of PCB design guidelines for achieving EMC with minimal EMI
  • Familiarity of object-oriented programming concepts, preferably in C++
  • Familiarity of Web concepts (Ethernet, WiFi, Cloud Services, Cyber Security)
