WHO WE LOOK FOR 🦄
We are looking for a Senior AI Engineer to join our Engineering team as a founding member of a new, high-impact venture.
This is a "greenfield" role: you’ll be the first hire for a brand-new AI-powered application within our ecosystem, centered around conversational and agentic interfaces. You won't just be adding features; you'll be designing the system, making core architectural decisions, and reporting directly to the Engineering Director.
As the team scales, you’ll play a central role in hiring, shaping the culture, and setting engineering standards from day one.
If you are a builder who thrives in ambiguity and is excited to turn the latest AI advancements into a product used by millions, this role is for you!
WHAT YOU WILL DO 🏄
<ul>
<li>Lead the development of a new AI-powered product, from initial architecture to production-ready code.</li>
<li>Design and build sophisticated conversational experiences and agentic workflows that solve real shopper needs.</li>
<li>Own the full-stack lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration between LLM capabilities, backend logic, and frontend interfaces.</li>
<li>Set the bar for AI engineering standards, including RAG patterns, prompt engineering, and model orchestration.</li>
<li>Shape the future team by participating in hiring and mentoring as the project expands.</li>
<li>Collaborate directly with leadership to influence product strategy and technical roadmap.</li>
<li>Implement "AI-first" development workflows, leveraging tools like Claude Code to accelerate delivery.</li>
</ul>
WHAT YOU WILL NEED 🪄
<ul>
<li>Proven experience building AI-powered products (conversational UIs, agentic systems, or LLM applications).</li>
<li>Strong Full-Stack skills: you are comfortable owning the entire stack to get a product off the ground.</li>
<li>Deep AI/ML Tooling knowledge: expert-level familiarity with LLMs, RAG, agents, and orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, CrewAI, etc.).</li>
<li>A Product Mindset: you care about user impact and business value, not just the elegance of the code.</li>
<li>Comfort with Ambiguity: you excel in greenfield environments where the path isn't always paved.</li>
<li>Growth Mindset: you seek feedback, learn loudly, and are eager to continuously improve.</li>
<li>Fluent in English: you’ll be working in a global, distributed environment.</li>
</ul>
👉 At our company, we value diversity and actively encourage it — we believe a variety of perspectives and backgrounds makes us stronger. We focus on potential rather than on having a “perfect” CV. If this role excites you and you believe you could grow into it — even if you don’t tick every single box in the requirements — we’d love to hear from you!
NICE TO HAVE 🎆
<ul>
<li>Experience with the AWS stack and serverless architectures.</li>
<li>DevOps skills: familiarity with deploying and monitoring AI applications at scale.</li>
<li>Prior experience in e-commerce or high-traffic consumer-facing products.</li>
<li>Experience in early-stage startups or "vanguard" teams within larger orgs.</li>
</ul>

TO FEEL AT HOME 🛋️ IN SHOPFULLY YOU NEED 🎯
<ul>
<li>Progress Over Perfection: We move forward. Always. In a fast-moving world, speed with purpose beats certainty without action. Momentum matters—not for its own sake, but because it drives results.
</li>
<li>Clarity Through Transparency: We bring each other along. We work in teams, not silos. Transparency gives context, and context enables action. That means we share decisions early, publish work in progress, and document outcomes so others can learn, move faster, and build better.
</li>
<li>Learn Loudly: We grow by doing and by daring. Big bets unlock big breakthroughs. But real innovation demands risk, and risk always carries the possibility of failure. That’s not a flaw. It’s the price of ambition.
</li>
<li>Challenge with Empathy: We speak up, even when it’s hard—because candor shows care, and leads to better outcomes. Listening deeply is how we grow. Disagreeing openly is how we build trust.
</li>
</ul>
Always Build Better: We are builders—of products, systems, and ideas. But more than that, we are builders of better. Better has no finish line. It’s a mindset.
