IT Security

It all starts with the mission: NVISO is here to protect European society from potentially devastating cyber attacks. This means we offer cyber security services to private and governmental organizations to help them better prepare for, prevent, detect and respond to cyber security incidents. All of this is built on four fundamental values that define who we are: We are Proud, We Break Barriers, We Care and No BS!

Tasks

As a Senior SOC Architect, you lead the technical direction of complex Security Operations Centre transformation and improvement engagements within NVISO’s Cyber Security Engineering Service Line. You combine SOC architecture, detection and response expertise, and consulting judgement to help customers build more effective, scalable and sustainable security operations.

You work with customer leadership, architects, engineers, analysts and delivery teams to turn operational challenges and strategic ambitions into clear target architectures, prioritised roadmaps and sound technical decisions. You also help strengthen NVISO’s SOC engineering capability through reusable approaches, coaching and practical innovation, including AI-enabled use cases where they create real operational value.

In practice, you will:

  • Lead complex SOC transformation and improvement engagements, providing architectural direction and technical oversight across parallel workstreams.
  • Advise customers on SOC architecture and operating models, as well as SIEM, detection engineering, SOAR, case management, automation and related integrations.
  • Review and challenge technical designs, priorities and implementation approaches to improve security value, scalability, maintainability and operational effectiveness.
  • Guide NVISO and customer teams through architectural decisions, technical trade-offs and delivery challenges.
  • Contribute to solution shaping and strategic initiatives, and identify opportunities to improve NVISO’s SOC engineering methods and services.

Requirements

  • You hold citizenship in one of the 32 NATO member states;
  • 10+ years in cybersecurity, security operations, or technology consulting, including 5+ years in a senior architecture or technical-lead position.
  • Proven experience designing or materially shaping complex SOC architectures, including target state, operating model, telemetry/logging strategy, integration approach, and roadmap.
  • Strong operational understanding of security monitoring, detection engineering, incident response, and the realities of running a SOC.
  • Broad architecture-level knowledge of modern SOC capabilities: SIEM, detection engineering, SOAR/automation, case management, and security-tool integrations.
  • Proven ability to lead the technical direction of complex customer engagements and translate business, risk, and operational needs into pragmatic architecture decisions.
  • Strong customer-facing consulting skills and confidence with senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent English plus professional working proficiency in French or Dutch.

Strong assets

  • Experience with SOC maturity assessments, SOC transformation programmes, and security-monitoring strategy.
  • Experience with telemetry coverage, log-source prioritisation, detection use-case strategy, and threat-informed detection engineering.
  • Experience with solution shaping, technical presales, scoping, proposal development, or strategic project positioning.
  • Experience in regulated, high-security, or multi-provider customer environments.
  • Relevant certifications in security architecture, cloud security, SOC technologies, or major SIEM platforms.

Soft Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills that enable effective collaboration across teams and customer environments;
  • A natural ability to bring structure, calm and direction in complex or high-pressure situations;
  • Confidence and credibility when interacting with senior customer stakeholders, project managers and technical experts;
  • Pragmatic, solution-oriented and able to balance strategic thinking with hands-on technical leadership;
  • The ability to challenge constructively, align stakeholders and move discussions toward clear outcomes.
