Introduction:
Due to the continued growth, Nidecker Group is looking for a web developer to join its Digital department. Nidecker Group is located in Rolle – Switzerland – on the Swiss-French Riviera, close to the Alps and Lake Geneva. The Group manages some of the best snowboarding brands in the world, such as Nidecker, Jones, Yes, Now and Flow and works with 60+ distributors in 40+ countries.
As Web Developer, you will be responsible for developping creative, innovative and fully responsive websites for several of the Nidecker Group’s brands, such as Nidecker and Jones. From a prototype made on Figma by the design team, you will define the best way to develop a best-in-class responsive website in close collaboration with our in-house team: the brand manager, the graphic designers and the web developer. You are comfortable working in Shopify and/or PHP MVC Framework and architecting maintainable, testable, clean solutions using industry best practices and modern design patterns.

Tasks
- Engaged in developing, debugging, and issue resolution in test-driven development environment
to deliver high-quality code - Comfortable working with LAMP/LEMP stack setups
- Ability to write high-performance, scalable, reusable code
- Adhere to and support the Agile Software Development Methodology
- Provide for both backend/frontend functionality and site performance for the UI experience
- Work closely with the Product Management for setting tasks estimations, scoping decisions and manage multiple work requests
- Partner with the Web Design team to create and maintain the digital style guidelines
- Strong collaboration skills within IT team and also able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Good written and spoken English
- Promote an innovative mindset concerning new technologies, languages, and techniques to problem solve large-scale technical opportunities
- Strong attention to detail and quality of deliverables
Requirements
- Excellent knowledge on PHP
- Experience with Ecom platforms, specifically Shopify
- 5+ years of responsive web development, focused on authoring HTML, CSS preprocessing tools like LESS and SASS and JavaScript in a scalable Ecom environment.
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks (e.g. jQuery or jQuery UI)
- Experience debugging (e.g. Xdebug) and benchmarking (e.g. Ab)
- Experience with modern toolkit like Bootstrap
- Experience implementing 3rd party SOAP and/or REST APIs
- Experience with Apache and MySQL, MariaDB or Postgres SQL
- Experience with working in a distributed version control environment, Git/GitFlow
- Comfortable working with workflow and communication tools like JIRA, GitLab/GitHub
- Capable of collaborative iteration in a fast paced environment with short product life cycles
Bonus Points:
- Experience with Symfony, Laravel or Drupal
- Experience with package managers, build tools, and task managers (e.g. npm/yarn, webpack or gulp)
- Understanding of the impacts of semantic markup and its effects on SEO
- Experience with performance testing, load testing, security testing, and automated testing
- Experience with template engine like Smarty or Twig
- Experience in A/B testing set-up and strategies
- Experience with UI Tests and/or Unit tests
- Knowledge of Doctrine ORM
- Knowledge of NoSQL databases (especially MongoDB)
- Knowledge of caching systems (e.g. OPcache, Memcached, Redis, etc)
- Server management experience with Linux and Nginx;
- Develop and maintain CI/CD Pipeline
