Azure Cloud Architect

We are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to design, implement, and evolve secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions on Microsoft Azure.

This role will focus on hybrid cloud architecture, Azure workload migrations, infrastructure automation, cloud governance, security, networking, and container platforms. The ideal candidate is able to work directly with business and technical stakeholders, translate requirements into architecture designs, and support teams throughout implementation and modernization initiatives.

Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available Microsoft Azure cloud architectures.
Define hybrid cloud solutions integrating Azure services with on-premises infrastructure.

Lead workload assessments and migration initiatives from on-premises environments to Azure using 6R migration strategies.

Design Azure networking architectures, including VNets, Hub-Spoke topology, VPN connectivity, ExpressRoute, routing, and security patterns.

Build and maintain infrastructure through Terraform, Bicep, and/or ARM Templates.

Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate infrastructure provisioning, deployments, and CI/CD pipelines.

Design and support containerized solutions using Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).

Implement cloud security, governance, and compliance controls using Azure Policy, RBAC, Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Entra ID.

Create architecture diagrams, technical documentation, migration assessments, and solution recommendations.

Support the implementation of Azure services such as Azure Functions, App Services, Azure Data Factory, Azure File Share, Azure Storage, Azure SQL, Azure Backup, and Azure Monitor.

Participate in customer-facing meetings to gather requirements, present architecture proposals, and support technical decision-making.

Provide technical guidance and mentorship to infrastructure, engineering, and operations teams.

Ensure solutions meet availability, scalability, performance, security, and cost optimization requirements.

Location: Mexico City, Mexico — Hybrid, on-site 1 day per week
Contract: Contract-to-hire, 12 months
Schedule: CST hours
Rate: Up to USD 30 per hour

Proven experience as an Azure Cloud Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, or similar cloud architecture role.

• Experience designing and implementing Azure Hybrid Cloud architectures integrated with on-premises environments.
• Strong hands-on experience with Terraform, Bicep, and/or ARM Templates.
• Solid Azure networking knowledge, including VNets, Hub-Spoke, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, NSGs, Azure Firewall, and Private Endpoints.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and deployment practices.
• Strong knowledge of Azure security and governance, including Azure Policy, RBAC, Defender for Cloud, Microsoft Sentinel, and Entra ID.
• Experience deploying and managing AKS / Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with on-premises to Azure migrations and practical understanding of 6R migration strategies.
• Ability to create HLD/LLD architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and migration analysis.
• Advanced English communication skills, written and spoken.
• Availability to work in a hybrid model in Mexico City, with on-site presence one day per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Microsoft Azure certifications such as AZ-104, AZ-305, AZ-500, or AZ-700.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, or multi-cloud environments.
• Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
• Experience with PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python.
• Knowledge of Azure Cloud Adoption Framework, Azure Well-Architected Framework, or TOGAF.
