Deputy Manager Children's Home
Location: Wellington, Somerset
Salary: £36,000 per annum + approximately 2 sleep-ins per week
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Deputy Manager to support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of a children's residential home in Wellington.
Tasks
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Registered Manager with the effective day-to-day operation of the home.
- Lead shifts and provide management oversight in the Registered Manager's absence.
- Support audits, quality assurance and Ofsted compliance.
- Work with social workers, families, schools and other professionals.
- Support admissions, placement planning and reviews.
Requirements
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.
- Significant residential childcare experience.
- Experience supervising, mentoring or leading staff.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and children's home regulations.
- Understanding of trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
- Willingness to complete Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare if not already achieved.
- Full UK driving licence..
- Enhanced DBS and satisfactory references required.
