The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join our growing engineering team. Working closely with the Group Head of Technology, engineering leadership and development teams, you will take ownership of our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes and operational reliability.

This role is ideal for a senior DevOps professional with strong commercial experience, ideally within the iGaming industry, who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges, driving automation and improving the scalability, performance and reliability of production systems.

You will play a key role in shaping DevOps best practices across the business, supporting engineering teams and helping ensure our infrastructure is secure, efficient and capable of scaling with the organisation.

• Own and continuously improve our AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, reliability, performance and security.
• Support capacity planning, scaling and performance optimisation across infrastructure and production environments.
• Lead or contribute to AWS cost optimisation and cost-reduction exercises, including rightsizing resources, improving resource utilisation and identifying opportunities for greater efficiency.
• Build, maintain and optimise GitHub CI/CD and deployment pipelines, including rollback and recovery strategies, to support multiple software development teams and projects.
• Provision, configure and maintain AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a strong focus on automation and consistency.
• Deploy, configure and maintain containerised applications using Docker, Kubernetes and Helm.
• Monitor infrastructure performance, system health and application availability, and implement effective logging, monitoring, alerting and observability solutions.
• Troubleshoot production, infrastructure and deployment issues, lead or contribute to root-cause analysis and implement preventative improvements to reduce recurring incidents.
• Participate in incident response and contribute to maintaining high availability and reliability across production systems.
• Work closely with Software Engineers, QA and Product teams to automate and continuously improve the software delivery lifecycle and engineering workflows.
• Identify opportunities to improve infrastructure, deployment processes, developer experience and operational efficiency.
• Ensure cloud infrastructure follows security best practices, internal standards and relevant compliance requirements.
• Contribute to technical decisions around infrastructure architecture, tooling and DevOps practices.
• Produce and maintain clear technical documentation covering infrastructure, deployment processes and operational procedures.
• Provide technical guidance, support and mentorship to other members of the DevOps and engineering teams.
• Participate in a rotating on-call support schedule to ensure the reliability and availability of production systems.

• Strong experience with GitHub CI/CD, deployment automation and modern software delivery practices.
• Extensive experience with Infrastructure as Code, particularly Terraform, and GitOps practices.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes (EKS), Helm and Docker.
• Strong scripting experience using Bash, Python or similar languages.
• Proven experience implementing and managing monitoring, logging, alerting and observability solutions.
• Strong understanding of networking, DNS, load balancing and SSL certificates.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, with experience diagnosing complex production and infrastructure issues.
• Good understanding of cloud security best practices and infrastructure compliance.
• Experience with AWS cost management, resource optimisation and cloud efficiency.
• Experience supporting high-traffic, highly available or 24/7 production platforms.
• Experience working within Agile software development teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently, take ownership and make sound technical decisions.

Desirable

• AWS certification.
• Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ or Kafka.
• Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Prometheus or ELK.
• Knowledge of security scanning, vulnerability management and compliance.
• Experience with AWS cost management tools such as Cost Explorer or AWS Budgets.
• Experience with other cloud providers.
• Experience designing or improving highly scalable cloud architectures.
• Experience leading DevOps projects or technical initiatives.
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior and mid-level DevOps engineers.

You will be comfortable taking ownership of critical infrastructure, working independently and making technical decisions, while collaborating closely with developers, QA, Product and engineering leadership.
