Senior Process Development Engineer

At Lumiphase, we are looking for a Senior Process Development Engineer to join our team in advancing our cutting-edge integrated photonic technology. In this role, you will be at the forefront of developing innovative processes and process modules that enable the next generation of photonic products.

You will work in cross-functional teams, designing and executing experiments, analyzing process data. This position offers versatile responsibilities in a dynamic environment, where your expertise will directly shape the future of our technology and products.

As a Process Development Engineer, you will:

• Drive device and process module development, working in a cross-functional team
• Design, plan and execute experiments for development of new processes and process flows
• Create DOEs and analyze electrical, optical and process control data
• Perform metrology tasks, such as defect inspection, SEM or AFM
• Engage in partnerships with suppliers to develop and qualify new production processes
• Document and present results

• Master or PhD in physical sciences or engineering
• Solid knowledge of semiconductor processes and integration; Experience with photonics is a plus
• 3+ years industry experience in Photonics/Semiconductor fields, preferably in product/process development
• High proficiency in statistical data analysis for product development with knowledge of Python/SQL
• Proven ability in coordination and management of own projects or complex tasks in a matrix organization
• Comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment, ready to deal with rapidly shifting priorities
• Solid interpersonal and communication skills and team working attitude.
• Creative, motivated, critical-thinking, and hands-on attitude with the drive to tackle hard challenges and with attention to details
• Fluent English (spoken and written) with strong verbal and written technical communication skills

Our recruitment process consists of three stages:

1. A 30 min. phone interview to discuss your general career motivations, and present our company and this role.
2. A 1-1.5 hour phone interview with 1-2 members of the hiring team to deep dive into the core skills requirements.
3. An on-site visit to interview with and meet many members of the team that you would be working in. This often includes lunch and gives you a strong sense of the company culture and individuals.

Then, both parties take their decisions! We aim to complete all steps in one month, but also allow for modifications to ensure both sides have a full picture of the skills and culture match to take the decision in an informed way.
