Tasks
- Developing and operationalizing an innovative SEO strategy focused on Generative Engine Optimization (GEO), technical SEO for large websites (>1 million URLs), and AI-powered on-page optimization.
- Integrating AI technologies: Implementing RAG architectures and other AI tools to automate and enhance SEO processes.
- Promoting a culture of innovation: Identifying and implementing new technologies and methods to continuously improve SEO strategies.
- Coordinating external partners (with in-house focus): Managing SEO agencies and service providers while maintaining clear operational responsibilities within the team. We're not looking for pure coordinators—we want doers.
- Monitoring and optimization: Tracking search results and structured data to continuously improve visibility and performance.
- Leading content optimization initiatives: Ensuring content meets the latest SEO standards and user needs.
- Taking full ownership of a large-scale project involving over 4 million URLs, in complex multilingual and multi-product environments, across multiple brand platforms.
Requirements
- In-depth knowledge of SEO strategy and AI-supported processes: Experience using AI to optimize search engine strategies.
- Innovative and growth mindset: Willingness to explore new paths and develop creative solutions.
- Extensive hands-on experience in technical SEO: Practical knowledge of complex website setups, structured data, hreflang, Core Web Vitals, crawl management, and JavaScript SEO.
- Familiarity with SEO tools: Proficient in using Google Search Console, GA4, Sistrix, and similar tools.
- End-to-end project responsibility: Ability to independently manage SEO projects from strategy to execution with efficient internal and external resources.
- Experience with multi-domain and multi-brand setups: Understanding of keyword cannibalization between SEA/SEO and mitigation strategies.
- Strategic deployment of internal and external partners: Ability to use resources effectively and lead teams.
- Familiarity with local SEO best practices: Experience optimizing category-city combinations.
- Understanding GEO strategies: Recognizing the difference from classic SEO, including adjustments for Generative Search results (e.g., SGE) and Local SEO.
- Knowledge in AI, NLP, and search engine algorithms: Understanding how modern search engines and their algorithms work.
- Strong analytical skills: Ability to measure SEO performance and make data-driven decisions.
- Hands-on culture: We are a practice-oriented, experimental team with lots of freedom to implement ideas and scale AI in SEO.
Language Skills: Basic German is a must, French and Italian are an advantage.
