As an Intern Finance & Controlling (d/f/m ), you will become an integral part of our two-person Finance Team, collaborating closely with our Head of Finance, Jeroen, and our Accountant, Julia. In this role, you will gain valuable insights into a broad range of financial subjects, fostering your growth as a well-rounded finance professional.
The position is available from June or July 2024.
What exactly will you do?
Accounting business: With your attention to detail and your passion for numbers, you will support us in all daily business tasks. Whether it is accounts payable or accounts receivable, you will take care to ensure an organized and efficient accounting system at LIQID. Exciting future projects await you, complementing your vibrant personality. Along the way, you will be accompanied by an experienced team, with Jeroen, our Head of Finance, as your manager.
Invoicing & Coordination: We look forward to accompanying you in your first steps into the big wide world of finance and contributing to your learning curve going steeply upwards. Whether it is invoicing, preparing bank transfers or monitoring incoming and outgoing payments - together with your team you will rock our daily business. Furthermore, you will support the coordination with our tax advisor. You can build/read/write reports - whether for our management or for external stakeholders, such as our shareholders or auditors.
Own strategic projects: You proactively contribute your ideas, analyze new business models, think about initiatives, and thus contribute to the active development of our department. There are more cool projects waiting for you right now: the implementation of a new forecasting/budgeting tool, the change to a new tax advisor, the optimization of our accounting software NetSuite and much more.
Background: You are a matriculated student, at least having finished the first 2 years of your Bachelor program, ideally in a business degree program with a focus on finance, accounting and/or controlling.
Skills and qualifications: Your interest in financial topics is unstoppable and a #nicetohave is if you have already gained some first work experience, for example through first internships in finance, banking, or consulting. Your PowerPoint slides are impressive? Can you build pivot tables with ease? Excellent! You can and like to communicate fluently in English. Communicating in German is beneficial but not required. Above all, you excel at conveying complex financial concepts in simple terms to non-finance colleagues.
Mindset: Numbers do not scare you. On the contrary, you really flourish here and work carefully, structured and have great attention to detail. You are not afraid to proactively contribute your ideas, ask questions and work independently. As we deal on a day-to-day basis with highly confidential information, you show the highest level of integrity and have sound judgement on what information can be shared widely.
A great candidate experience and transparency are important to us. The various recruiting steps help us, and of course you, to understand what a collaboration could look like and whether we fit together professionally and culturally.
Personal or virtual meeting: You will meet your future team and discuss your case study results.
