About the Role

As our Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in strengthening data-driven decision-making across the We Can Work (WCW) programme. You will be responsible for managing and optimizing complex programme databases, ensuring data quality and governance, and developing innovative data visualization solutions that support programme implementation and strategic learning.

Working closely with the MERLA Manager, Learning & Innovation Expert, and country teams across seven WCW countries, you will transform data into actionable insights that improve programme performance and contribute to inclusive economic empowerment outcomes. You will also lead the management of the WCW Dashboard and support the development of a strong culture of evidence-based decision-making throughout the programme.

Tasks

  • Manage complex databases using ActivityInfo and other web-based platforms to ensure efficient data storage, retrieval, maintenance, and compliance with organizational data governance and privacy standards, including GDPR requirements.
  • Ensure data quality through regular validation, cleaning, monitoring, and implementation of quality assurance processes across programme data systems.
  • Manage and continuously improve the WCW Dashboard and develop additional data visualization tools using platforms such as Power BI to support programme monitoring and implementation tracking.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data using statistical and analytical methods to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights that inform programme strategy and decision-making.
  • Produce high-quality reports, dashboards, and visualizations that effectively communicate findings to diverse audiences, including senior management, programme teams, donors, and external partners.
  • Collaborate closely with country-level M&E teams and programme staff across the seven WCW countries to align data management and analysis activities with programme objectives.
  • Facilitate workshops, meetings, and learning sessions that promote data literacy and strengthen the use of evidence for decision-making at both country and international levels.
  • Build the capacity of programme staff, particularly M&E Officers, on data analysis methodologies, dashboard utilization, data quality standards, and interpretation of findings.
  • Support data governance initiatives, including the development and implementation of standards, procedures, and best practices for data management.
  • Provide technical support to the MERLA Manager in monitoring, evaluation, research, learning, and accountability (MERLA) processes and other related assignments as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Monitoring & Evaluation, Economics, or a related field. A Post gradual diploma or Master’s degree is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of professional experience in data analysis, data management, monitoring and evaluation, or a related role, preferably within international development programmes or NGOs.
  • Strong experience managing databases and web-based data collection and management systems, particularly ActivityInfo or similar platforms.
  • Advanced analytical skills with experience using statistical software and programming languages such as R, Python, SQL, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience developing dashboards and data visualization products using Power BI or similar business intelligence tools.
  • Solid understanding of data governance principles, data quality management, and data privacy regulations, including GDPR.
  • Experience designing and delivering training and capacity development initiatives related to data management and analysis.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex data into clear and actionable insights.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across multicultural and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Excellent written and spoken English; French language skills are an asset.

Benefits

  • You will join a highly motivated and collaborative international team that values innovation, learning, and evidence-based decision-making.
  • We offer a unique opportunity to contribute to a flagship programme that is improving economic opportunities for people with disabilities across multiple countries.
  • You will have the opportunity to shape and strengthen programme-wide data systems, analytics, and learning practices with a high level of ownership and impact.
  • We are committed to providing an inclusive and supportive working environment that encourages professional growth, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.
  • We emphasize work-life balance, flexible working arrangements, and employee well-being.
  • We believe in participatory leadership and welcome your expertise, initiative, and ideas as we continue to strengthen our impact.
  • We foster a culture of continuous improvement, reflection, and learning from both successes and challenges.
