DevOps Engineer (English speaking) - Sittard (32-40 hours/week)

Our client is a Dutch organization (90 employees) that develops its own software in-house. They provide smart cloud software and related services that help government agencies and educational institutions digitize their internal and external processes. Within these sectors, the company is the market leader.

• As a DevOps Engineer, you serve as a key link between software engineers, IT specialists, and platform users. You enjoy working in a flexible, largely self-steering Agile team and are driven by technology and process optimization;
• In this role, you are an essential part of the development process. Together with your colleagues, you are responsible for maintaining, optimizing, and expanding the tools and platform used by the developers;
• You work daily with Continuous Delivery and Infrastructure-as-Code. You contribute your knowledge and experience to help shape and promote a vision for how the cloud platform can be further developed, automated, and stabilized;
• You may not know everything yet, but you are eager to understand exactly how systems work and how to use them effectively. You are interested in software development and have a mindset focused on automation and innovation;
• You have a vision and opinion on where technology is heading and are open to discussions, new ideas, and change;
• Within the teams the colleagues work according to the Scrum framework. The core of Scrum is a multidisciplinary and self-organizing team. Projects, such as the development of new functionalities and releases up to going live, are tackled together in short cycles. Tasks are planned and divided among you and your colleagues and successes are raised together. This means that you work closely together, communicate well and make decisions together with members of the various teams.

• You have a relevant education, preferably a bachelor’s degree, and HBO-level working and thinking ability;
• You have experience with the software development process, you know how building & deploying of software should be done correctly;
• You have experience with public cloud in a production environment;
• You have experience with Infrastructure as Code;
• You have the skills to work with pipelines to build and deploy infrastructure automatically;
• You have at least 3 years of experience in the areas mentioned above;
• You have a big passion for automation and experience with agile frameworks;
• You speak English fluently, and it’s a bonus if you speak Dutch (or want to learn to);
• You are living in (or close to the border of) The Netherlands and are elegiable to work in The Netherlands (IND Sponsorship is not possible);
• Preferably you have knowledge of and experience in Azure, Azure DevOps, PowerShell and/or Terraform;
