We are seeking an experienced Higg FEM & SLCP Verifier to join our team in Bangladesh. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the environmental sector, with a deep understanding of the Higg Facility Environmental Module (FEM) as well as extensive experience in the social sector, with a deep understanding of the Social & Labour Convergence Program (SLCP) and their application in the apparel and textile industry.
As a Higg FEM Generalist/ Chemical Specialist Verifier, you will be responsible for conducting verifications of facility assessments, ensuring adherence to the Higg Index protocols, and providing valuable insights to improve environmental performance.
As a SLCP Verifier, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data collected during social and labour assessments within global supply chains. This position involves conducting detailed reviews and on-site inspections of facilities to verify compliance with SLCP standards. You will collaborate with facility management and workers to gather accurate information and identify discrepancies.
Tasks
- Conduct On-Site Inspections for Higg FEM & SLCP: Visit facilities to cross-check data and interview stakeholders for accurate verification.
- Prepare Reports: Draft detailed reports highlighting findings, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Engage with Stakeholders: Work closely with facility management and workers to facilitate the verification process and provide feedback.
- Maintain Compliance: Adhere to Higg FEM & SLCP protocols and ethical standards, staying updated on industry best practices.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Social Science, Labor Relations, or a related field. A master’s degree will be considered an advantage.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in the environmental sector, with a strong background in environmental audits, as well as in social compliance auditing or labour standards verification. Experience in the apparel and textile industry is highly desirable.
- Certifications: Certification as a Higg FEM Verifier and SLCP Verifier is required. APSCA status of CSCA is required.
- Any other relevant certifications in environmental or social compliance auditing or labour rights such as GOTS, OCS, GRS, SA8000, SMETA, WRAP etc. will be considered an advantage.
- FEM trainer status is considered an advantage.
- Language Proficiency: Proficiency in English and Bengali is required.
- An utmost ethical approach and track record.

- Proficiency in environmental data analysis, familiarity with environmental management systems, and knowledge of sustainability reporting standards.
- Strong understanding of labour standards, social compliance, and supply chain issues.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.

- Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple verification assignments simultaneously.
- Willingness to travel to conduct on-site verifications.
