About KLAR
Let’s start with the basics! Klar is a Mexican fintech startup whose mission is to democratize and revolutionize the way in which financial services have been delivered so far in Mexico, especially since half of the population doesn’t have a bank account. We offer a rich set of products across our debit and credit offers and the future is bright for Klar! We are also proud to have been certified in 2023 as a “Great Place to Work” in Mexico - we’ve worked hard to make that happen and will continue to make bigger strides in the future! Sound like a place you’d like to be?

<h2>Tasks</h2>
As a Senior Web Engineer at Klar, you’ll be part of a fast-moving, product-driven team shaping the future of digital finance in Mexico. You’ll play a key role in crafting fast, responsive and reliable web experiences using React and modern web technologies.
Your days will include collaborating with team members, back-end engineers, and product managers to deliver features that improve internal tools used by hundreds of users that give support to all our customers.
You’ll develop new features for our back office applications, author and review pull requests, and be part of shaping engineering decisions that have real impact on millions of users. This is a full-time, remote role with teammates across Mexico, Berlin, and Argentina — so asynchronous collaboration and clear communication are part of the daily rhythm.
What you can expect:

<li>Collaborate with backend engineers, product managers, and designers to deliver seamless user experiences.</li>

<li>Write clean, efficient, and testable code with performance and accessibility in mind.</li>
<li>Optimize applications for speed, scalability, and security.</li>
<li>Proactively identify areas of improvement in the frontend architecture and help drive technical initiatives.</li>
</ul>
<h2>Requirements</h2>
<ul>
<li>5+ years of professional experience building web applications in modern JavaScript/TypeScript.</li>
<li>Deep experience with React.js and modern features (hooks, context, portals, Suspense).</li>
<li>Strong understanding of component design patterns and state management in React (e.g. Redux, Zustand, RTK).</li>
<li>Experience with RESTful and GraphQL APIs.</li>
<li>Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and frontend testing (Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, etc.).</li>
<li>Strong understanding of browser performance, web vitals, web accessibility (WCAG), and responsive design.</li>
<li>Experience working in agile environments with cross-functional teams.</li>
<li>Fluent English communication skills (written and verbal).</li>
</ul>
<h2>Benefits</h2>
<ul>
<li>Competitive salary based on performance and experience</li>
<li>Chance of earning Klar stock options</li>
<li>26 days of paid vacation per year</li>
<li>Computer devices</li>

<li>Sponsored coaching and therapy sessions via Modern Health</li>
<li>Access to Desana, a network of flexible workspaces around the world</li>

<li>A world class team that helps you evolve your skills in areas you're interested in</li>
</ul>
