Building Designer / Drafter

THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re looking for a Building Designer to create accurate, professional drawings for a variety of construction projects.

You’ll work closely with our sales, estimating, design, and project management teams to turn project information into clear, buildable drawing sets. Projects may range from early proposal drawings to detailed construction documents for agricultural, residential, and light commercial buildings.

This role is a good fit for someone who enjoys technical work, pays close attention to detail, and likes figuring out how buildings go together.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Create and maintain Revit models
• Produce proposal drawings and construction drawing packages
• Develop plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules
• Revise drawings as project requirements change
• Coordinate drawings with sales, estimating, and project management
• Review project information for accuracy and constructability
• Help maintain Revit templates, standards, and drafting best practices
• Organize drawing files and project documentation
• Assist with design development and technical problem-solving
• Learn and implement new drafting tools and workflows

WHO YOU ARE

Essential

• Strong Revit skills
• Experience creating construction drawings
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good understanding of basic building construction
• Able to read and interpret plans, dimensions, and project information
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Able to manage multiple projects and revisions
• Good communication and teamwork skills

Ideal

• Construction drafting, architectural drafting, engineering technology, or similar background
• Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent experience
• Experience with design-build construction
• Agricultural, post-frame, residential, or light commercial experience
• Familiarity with structural and construction details
• Interest in improving drafting systems, templates, and technology
