The Embassy of India in Berlin is inviting applications for hiring of a Part-time  
Translator in the Science & Technology Wing.

## Tasks

Job Description:  
1\. Translation work, including of articles in Science & Technology and  
Innovation  
2\. Acquiring and compiling information about the latest developments in  
Research and Innovation in Germany  
3\. Handle technical equipments & have good understanding of IT hardware &  
software.  
4\. Interaction with S&T institutions, government departments, Universities and  
other Research and Innovation organizations  
5\. Coordinating/assisting in organizing visits of S&T officials, S&T  
delegations, etc.  
6\. Attending to official work delegated by the various scientific agencies of India  
7\. General office work, assistance in administrative/ secretarial matters  
8\. Any other task as directed from time to time

## Requirements

Essential Qualifications:  
1\. Educational: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Science, Technology,  
Engineering and Medicine. Understanding of the Research and Innovation  
landscape in India and Germany.  
2\. Language proficiency: B2 level proficiency in German. Excellent English  
language skills- both written and spoken.  
3\. Residence status: German / EU / Indian citizen (with valid work and  
residence permit). Student Visa holders may not apply.  
4\. Computer skills: Proficient in MS Office and other similar tools.  
5\. Social Media Skills: Able to draft and post on social media and monitor social  
media.  
6\. Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in a field relevant to the job description  
would be desirable.

Soft Skills:  
 Dedication and flexibility, technical understanding, and Service oriented  
 Analytical and structured way of working with high level of reliability and  
proactive approach  
 Communicative and friendly personality. Team spirit and intercultural  
competence  
 Ability to multitask, work under pressure and handle increased workload

## Benefits

This is a purely temporary position, on a yearly contract, which is renewable.  
Maximum 120 hours of work per month, with 30 hours of work per week.  
Salary: €21 per hour including COLA (If the employee works 120 hours in a  
month, the earnings for the month would be 21 X 120 = 2520 Euro)  
In addition to the gross pay, the Embassy will pay the employer’s share of the  
German Social Security package.  
The remuneration package does not include any leave.
