We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant / Bilanzbuchhalter (all genders) to support our passionate, international finance team here at Helpling. In this role, you will have a wide range of responsibilities such as preparing financial reports, performing account reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, preparing tax returns or assisting with audit preparation.The position offers the opportunity to develop into a Head of Accounting (all genders) in the medium term.
The mission in detail:
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with national and international GAAP for several Helpling Group entities
- Preparation of financial analyses and reports
- Taking on special projects such as the optimisation of accounting software, system integration or process improvement initiatives
- Preparing tax returns in collaboration with the external tax advisors
- Working closely with our auditors to ensure a smooth audit process
- Supporting the preparation and monitoring of budgets
- Supporting the team, especially junior staff as required
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; qualification as certified accountant ("Geprüfte:r Bilanzbuchhalter:in - Bachelor Professional in Bilanzbuchhaltung") would be a big plus
- At least 5 years of professional experience in similar roles with a strong focus on Accounting as well as proven operational finance capability; close & compliance experience
- Experience with complex group structures and consolidation
- Very good knowledge of national and international GAAP and tax law
- Professional knowledge of ERP systems, NetSuite would be a big plus
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Ability to simplify complex issues and communicate concisely for the business
- Willingness to train junior team members and work with little supervision
- Fluency in German and English; French is a plus
