Senior Backend Developer - Rust (m/f/d) for the renewable energy industry

H.E.A.T. is an early-stage startup that makes cutting-edge, real-time control software for the energy transition. We empower customers across the globe to deploy ever more complex renewable energy systems. And we help them do it quickly and at scale.

We are seeking an experienced backend developer proficient in Rust and skilled in multi-threaded and concurrent programming. In this role you will be a primary developer for a complex product, and you will be required to occasionally travel to the remote locations where our products are installed. A passion for the energy transition and experience building products from scratch are highly valued.

• Write clean, maintainable and high-quality and performance code
• Develop and support software including applications, database integration, interfaces, and new functionality enhancements
• Coordinate cross-functionally to ensure project meets business objectives and compliance standards
• Support test and deployment of new products and features
• Participate in code reviews

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related field)
• 5+ years back-end development experience
• Professional experience working with Rust
• Expertise in concurrent programming, functional programming, object oriented design, and time-series databases
• Experience building products from scratch
• Excellent communication skills
• Team-lead experience a plus
• Experience with communication protocols (Modbus, CAN, M-Bus) a plus
• Experience with power systems a plus
