Joy_

11-50

At Joy_, we believe gifting should feel personal, playful, and full of surprise - basically everything today's gift cards are not. We're here to reimagine gifting for the modern world, turning it from a transactional experience into a token of love, customizable, meaningful, and radically flexible.
Our universal gift card can be personalized endlessly and redeemed for every product in every online store. That means one gift card = the whole internet.
But we're not stopping there. We're building the gifting backbone of e-commerce, a product concierge powered by AI that turns intent into instant access. Our infrastructure stitches together live merchant feeds, intelligent search, and instant checkout so brands can offer any product online, in real time, through a single API.
Backed by industry experts and angel investors, we've raised our seed round and are growing fast, now hopefully with you.
<h2>Tasks</h2>
As our UI/UX Designer, you'll be the creative force behind every touchpoint of the Joy_ experience, from the moment someone discovers us to the instant a gift brings joy to its recipient.
You'll shape how Joy_ looks, feels, and works across:
<ul>
<li>Consumer experiences - gift card personalization flows, redemption journeys, and delight-driven touchpoints that make gifting magical</li>
<li>B2B partner portals - self-serve dashboards, analytics views, and integrations that feel as polished as our consumer product</li>
<li>Marketing &amp; brand - landing pages, campaigns, and storytelling that captures what makes Joy_ different</li>
<li>Product infrastructure - building and evolving our design system to scale beautifully across all experiences</li>
</ul>
You'll work closely with our engineering team to bring designs to life, and with our commercial team to ensure every customer touchpoint reflects the Joy_ promise: aesthetics, efficiency, and joy.
In short: You'll own the design DNA of Joy_ - making sure every pixel, flow, and interaction feels effortless and enchanting.
What you'll do
<ul>
<li>Design end-to-end experiences - from wireframes and user flows to high-fidelity UI and interactive prototypes</li>
<li>Build and maintain our design system - creating reusable components, patterns, and guidelines that keep Joy_ consistent and beautiful</li>
<li>Shape our brand identity - ensuring every touchpoint (web, product, marketing) feels cohesive and unmistakably Joy_</li>
<li>Collaborate cross-functionally - partner with engineers on implementation, with founders on product strategy, and with commercial teams on customer-facing materials</li>
<li>Run user research and testing - talk to users, analyze feedback, and iterate based on real insights</li>
<li>Balance beauty with usability - design interfaces that are not just stunning but intuitive, accessible, and conversion-optimized</li>
<li>Move fast and iterate - ship designs quickly, learn from real usage, and refine continuously</li>
</ul>
<h2>Requirements</h2>
What we're looking for
<ul>
<li>2-3 years of professional experience in UI/UX design, ideally in product-focused environments (startups, agencies, or e-commerce)</li>
<li>Strong UI design skills - you have an exceptional eye for typography, color, layout, spacing, and visual hierarchy</li>
<li>Solid UX foundation - comfortable creating user flows, wireframes, and prototypes, but you shine brightest when crafting beautiful interfaces</li>
<li>Figma mastery - you live in Figma and know how to build scalable, well-organized design files</li>
<li>Design system thinking - experience building or contributing to component libraries and design tokens</li>
<li>Collaboration mindset - you work well with developers and can communicate design decisions clearly</li>
<li>German fluency - you're comfortable working in German and English (our team is international, but German-speaking users are core to our audience)</li>
<li>Portfolio that shows range - from consumer-facing flows to complex dashboards, we want to see your versatility</li>
</ul>
Nice to have
<ul>
<li>Experience designing for e-commerce, fintech, payments, or gifting products</li>
<li>Familiarity with HTML/CSS (you don't need to code, but understanding constraints helps)</li>
<li>Motion design or micro-interaction skills</li>
<li>Illustration or iconography capabilities</li>
<li>Experience with user research, A/B testing, or analytics tools</li>
<li>Knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG)</li>
<li>Exposure to brand design or marketing assets</li>
</ul>
<h2>Benefits</h2>
How we work &amp; what you get
<ul>
<li>Design ownership from day one - you're not executing someone else's vision. You're shaping ours.</li>
<li>Small team, big impact - see your designs go live fast and directly influence how thousands experience Joy_</li>
<li>Remote-first &amp; flexible - work from anywhere in CET ±2h with the freedom to structure your day</li>
<li>Close collaboration - work directly with founders and a lean, senior team that values your input</li>
<li>Competitive salary + meaningful equity - we want you to win with us as Joy_ grows</li>
<li>Purposeful product - build experiences that make giving (and getting) gifts more personal, sustainable, and joyful</li>
</ul>
How we think
We think like caring jesters - joyful, kind, clever. We challenge the status quo by staying light on our feet and bold in our ambition. Our compass?
Aesthetics. Efficiency. Joy.
We believe gifting is about delight - and delight comes from design, thoughtfulness, and a little magic. That's the experience we're building: not just easy, but enchanting.
