The Role

As an AI Engineering Working Student, you will help us identify, design and implement automations that make our daily work faster, smarter and more scalable. You’ll work closely with Product, Tech, Strategy & Operations and our Investment team, and you’ll get a very practical view into how a startup investment platform really works.

• Type: Working Student (part-time)
• Workload: by agreement (e.g. ~15-20 hours/week during semester; more possible in lecture-free periods)
• Location: Vienna, hybrid work possible

• Analyze and evaluate internal business processes to identify opportunities for automation, AI augmentation, and efficiency improvements.
• Design, develop, and deploy intelligent workflows and integrations, combining scripting (Python), APIs, and LLM-based components where it makes sense.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Operations, Portfolio Management, and Customer Success to understand requirements and deliver effective end-to-end automation solutions.
• Work with SQL and internal data sources to analyze data structures, validate assumptions, and measure process performance.
• Document your architectures, processes and learnings to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing

• Enrolled in an advanced technical program (Bachelor's or Master's, e.g. Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or similar).
• Solid Python skills, with hands-on experience writing scripts, working with libraries, and building small applications or tools.
• Working knowledge of SQL: you can write queries, join tables, and pull insights from relational databases.
• First hands-on experience integrating LLMs (e.g. Claude, GPT, Gemini) via APIs, including prompt engineering, structured outputs, and ideally agentic setups or tool use.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, webhooks, and authentication (OAuth, API keys). You know how to read API docs and integrate services end-to-end.
• Bonus: exposure to MCPs, vector databases, RAG pipelines, or frameworks like LangChain/LlamaIndex.
• German skills (min. B2): you can read and understand internal documents.
• High curiosity and willingness to learn: you like to experiment with new tools and improve things continuously.
