The Data Engineering Manager (f/m/x) role isn’t just about building pipelines or maintaining infrastructure, it's about leading and growing a high-performing data engineering team while creating a platform that enables data-driven decisions across the company. You will shape the architecture, drive team strategy, mentor engineers, and ensure data quality, reliability, and scalability across all our products. Your work impacts Product, Marketing, Analytics, and Engineering teams, and ultimately millions of users.

What You’ll Own

• Team leadership & development
  Lead and mentor the data engineering team, driving collaboration, agile practices, and high-quality delivery. Act as a people leader, overseeing individual growth and hiring as the team scales.
• ETL pipelines & data architecture
  Oversee design, implementation, and maintenance of ETL pipelines, data models, and warehouse architecture. Ensure solutions are efficient, reliable, and maintainable.
• Platform stability & performance
  Guarantee the security, scalability, and high-performance operation of the data platform for batch, streaming, and analytics workloads. Monitor and optimize infrastructure for cost efficiency and performance.
• Cross-functional impact & hands-on contribution
  Collaborate with analytics, product, and DevOps teams to deliver actionable data products. Provide technical guidance through architecture design, code reviews, and occasional hands-on implementation.

Your profile

• Proven leadership
  3+ years leading data engineering teams, fostering collaboration, agile practices, and delivering impactful projects. Conducted regular 1:1s and team performance reviews.
• Hands-on data engineering expertise
  5+ years in ETL, data modeling, and warehouse management. Skilled in SQL, Python, Spark, and cloud data platforms.
• Platform & cloud experience
  Experience building, scaling, and maintaining cloud-based data platforms, ensuring reliability, cost efficiency, and high performance.
• Data governance & quality
  Strong competence in data governance, lineage, access policies, and quality assurance.
• Communication & collaboration
  Excellent communicator with a collaborative mindset, able to align stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Project & execution skills
  Able to prioritize, allocate resources, and drive projects to completion in fast-changing environments. Comfortable being hands-on when needed.
