The Industrial Robotics Group (IRZ) at ETH Zürich and Inspire AG is rapidly expanding and focusing on addressing critical challenges in robot-based manufacturing. We employ advanced computational methods, machine learning, modeling, and custom hardware and software to continually test our solutions in various real-world industry projects.
The industry has shown a keen interest in our "IT-to-industry" concept, which we promote. However, there is hesitancy due to our inability to guarantee hard real-time requirements currently. In this project, your task is to establish the foundation that will enable us to achieve NC-level performance while retaining access to the vast ecosystem of IT and computer science using standard C/C++. We aim to achieve this goal by utilizing the real-time Ubuntu kernel and creating a reusable hard real-time hardware interface module. All of this should be implemented to run on a virtual machine within our cluster using standard server hardware.
We are seeking a dynamic and versatile intern with strong C++ programming skills, a deep understanding of computer architecture, and a hands-on approach to making complex systems function effectively.
? Are you someone who is exceptionally well-organized and detail-oriented? If you are resilient and excel in tackling complex challenges in a fast-paced research environment, we encourage you to have a look at IRZ’s webpage and apply for the position.
