• Algorithm Development: Design, implement, evaluate, and optimize machine learning models for atomic graphs, leveraging tools like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Model Integration & Management: Integrate machine learning models into our autonomous laboratory platform, ensuring seamless operation with tools like Kubernetes and Docker.
• Monitoring & Debugging: Utilize monitoring tools such as TensorBoard to ensure the reliability and performance of deployed models.
• Reproducibility & Traceability: Maintain rigorous standards for reproducibility and traceability using Git, DVC (Data Version Control), and comprehensive documentation practices.
• Research & Innovation: Conduct pioneering research to advance the application of AI in materials science, contributing to initiatives like AI4Science and AI4Climate.

• PhD or MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field, with a focus on deep learning.
• 3+ years of experience in machine learning and software engineering roles, with hands-on experience in training deep learning algorithms (e.g., GNNs, Transformers) using cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, and familiarity with libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and good software development practices
• Strong communication skills in English and a proven ability to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.

Nice to Have:

• A strong publication record in top-tier ML conferences or journals.
• Experience in designing and running large-scale machine learning experiments
• Familiarity with material science datasets and participation in relevant challenges (e.g., Open Catalyst Project, Matbench).
• Knowledge of deploying machine learning models in production environments using MLOps practices.
