We are seeking a IT Administrator- Linux Servers and Jira Cloud (M/F/D) for our client, SOFHA, a Berlin-based software company with over 40 years of expertise in high-performance image processing for the professional printing industry.
SOFHA Work with leading printer manufacturers, especially in Japan, to create smart print workflow solutions using industry standards like Adobe PostScript®, Adobe PDF Print Engine®, and JDF/JMF. The software runs on Linux, and the design user interfaces for Windows, macOS, and web applications. With a team of around 50 international professionals, they offer a collaborative culture, flexible work arrangements, and continuous learning opportunities.
Tasks
- Perform regular maintenance, updates, and monitoring of our Linux-based file and mail servers.
- Ensure the secure and efficient operation of backup systems and synchronization routines.
- Maintain and monitor physical server hardware for reliability and performance.
- Conduct emergency and security drills, including testing of backup recovery processes.
- Administer data access rights in line with documentation and compliance requirements.
- Support physical data security and ensure the integrity of the overall system.
- Execute vulnerability assessments and penetration tests to proactively identify risks.
- Stay up to date on relevant security advisories and act swiftly in response to threats.
- Create and maintain internal IT documentation, procedures, and FAQs in our company Wiki.
- Provide first-level support for the Jira Cloud error reporting system, including management of add-ons such as Tempo for time tracking.
- Contribute to the development and documentation of IT infrastructure processes to support scalability and organizational growth.
- Compile quarterly reports evaluating compliance with internal Company Security and Integrity standards.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Linux server administration (Debian/Ubuntu/CentOS or similar).
- Familiarity with email systems, file servers, and data backup strategies.
- Experience with Jira Cloud administration and add-ons like Tempo is a strong advantage.
- Solid understanding of IT security principles, vulnerability management, and compliance requirements.
- Practical experience with hardware maintenance and physical server infrastructure.
- Ability to write and maintain clear technical documentation and user guidance.
- Structured, self-driven, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a small, cross-functional team.
- Fluent in English; German language skills are a plus.
