Job Description:

We are looking for a freelance New Product Development Specialist to join our team and take on a key role in identifying, sourcing, and launching new products. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about product development, data-driven strategies, and the creative process.

Responsibilities:

Market Research & Validation: Conduct thorough research to identify and validate new product ideas by analyzing market trends, customer needs, and competitor strategies. Utilize data-driven methods to evaluate product viability and potential success.

Supplier & Manufacturer Sourcing: Identify and establish strong relationships with manufacturers, focusing primarily on sourcing from China. Negotiate contracts, pricing, and lead times to achieve cost efficiency while maintaining quality standards.

Product Development: Collaborate with manufacturers to create prototypes and ensure products meet detailed specifications. Develop comprehensive product manuals and packaging designs that align with Deskpace’s branding and quality requirements.

Design & Creativity: Utilize tools like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to design or enhance packaging and concept visuals. Work closely with the marketing team to produce designs that are both visually appealing and functional.

Process Optimization: Streamline workflows in product sourcing and development by implementing automation tools. Leverage data and technology to enhance efficiency across the product development pipeline.

Handover to Marketing: Provide detailed documentation and support to the marketing team to ensure smooth product launches. Collaborate with the team to prepare product listings for online marketplaces.

Requirements:

• Passion for product development, sourcing, and bringing ideas to life.
• Strong understanding of furniture design principles, ergonomics, and aesthetics.
• Ability to analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitor products to identify opportunities.
• Basic skills in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Strong interest in automation tools and data-driven decision-making.
• Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written).
• Fluency in Chinese and/or experience working with Chinese market is highly desirable.
• Ambition to learn and grow in a specialized role with the potential for training and development.
