Legal Counsel (m/f/d)

We’re recruiting for a Legal Counsel to join the legal function of a leading U.S. technology firm.

This will be the first legal hire in Germany, and this person will provide legal advice, particularly around commercial and IT/SaaS contracts, as the business continues to push European expansion.

• Review, negotiate, and draft a range of commercial contracts, including IT/SaaS agreements, vendor contracts, and service level agreements.
• Provide practical legal advice and guidance to internal teams on various legal matters, including privacy and compliance.
• Collaborate with clients and vendors on contract negotiations and maintain strong working relationships.
• Assist in the development and refinement of legal templates and best practices.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant legal issues affecting the software industry.

• 1-3 years PQE, with experience in IT law, and general commercial contracting.
• Fluency in German and English language.
• Experience working both in-house (ideally in tech) and in private practice is preferred.
• A solid understanding of legal issues impacting the software industry globally, such as data privacy, SaaS, Cloud, AI, and IP.
• Candidates with relevant experience not admitted to the German federal bar will be considered.
