The Business Analyst is responsible for strategic planning, data analysis, project management, stakeholder collaboration, technical expertise, compliance, continuous improvement, user experience enhancement, and vendor management. This role demands a combination of analytical skills, business acumen, technical knowledge, and strong communication abilities to drive successful outcomes in a dynamic environment.
The capability under the responsibility of the Senior Business Analyst is a channel platform that offers 360-degree access to partners within the vendor ecosystem, enabling them to transact and consume relevant content.
Tasks
Strategic Planning and Analysis
- Market and Competitor Analysis: Conduct comprehensive analyses of market trends, competitor activities, and industry benchmarks to inform strategic decisions.
- Business Case Development: Create detailed business cases for new projects and initiatives, including cost-benefit analysis, risk assessment, and potential ROI calculations.
- Strategic Roadmap Development: Collaborate with senior management to define and refine the platform's strategic roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business goals and objectives.
Data Analysis and Insights
- Data Management: Oversee the collection, validation, and management of data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
- Performance Metrics Monitoring: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of channel strategies and platform performance.
- Advanced Data Analytics: Utilize advanced analytical tools and techniques to extract actionable insights from large datasets, aiding in data-driven decision-making.
Project Management
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional project teams to deliver business initiatives on time, within scope, and budget.
- Requirements Elicitation: Gather, document, and prioritize business requirements, translating them into detailed functional specifications (user stories).
- Process Optimization: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness across the platform.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, product managers, and technical teams.
- Effective Communication: Facilitate clear communication between business and technical stakeholders to ensure mutual understanding and alignment.
- Change Management: Support change management efforts by developing communication plans, training materials, and implementation strategies for smooth transitions.
Technical and Functional Expertise
- Platform Knowledge: Develop and maintain deep expertise in the channel portal platform's functionality, architecture, and capabilities (ideally knowledge with Liferay Platform).
- Solution Design: Collaborate with technical teams to design and implement solutions that meet business requirements and leverage platform features.
- Technical Liaison: Serve as a bridge between business users and technical teams (Product Owners, IT Developers, Solution Architects), ensuring that technical solutions align with business needs.
Compliance and Governance
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all business processes and projects adhere to relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with business initiatives, implementing robust governance frameworks.
- Audit Preparation: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and insights into business processes and data management practices.
Continuous Improvement and Learning
- Professional Development: Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies relevant to channel portal platforms.
- Mentorship: Mentor and guide junior business analysts, fostering their professional growth and development.
- Knowledge Sharing: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by sharing insights, tools, and methodologies with the broader team.
Vendor and Partner Management
- Vendor Evaluation: Evaluate and manage relationships with external vendors and partners, ensuring they meet the platform's needs and standards.
- Contract Negotiation: Negotiate contracts and service level agreements (SLAs) with vendors to ensure favorable terms and conditions.
- Performance Monitoring: Monitor vendor performance and compliance with SLAs, addressing any issues that arise.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst or similar role.
- Strong business acumen with demonstrated success in driving results within a dynamic environment.
- Jira knowledge is a big plus
- Agile Methodology
- Proficiency in Excel: Advanced skills in Excel for data analysis and visualization.
- SQL Knowledge: SQL skills for querying and managing data is a plus
- Proficiency in data management and advanced analytical tools.
- Ability to collect, validate, and analyze large datasets to generate actionable insights.
- Experience liaising between business users and technical teams, including developers and solution architects.
- Expertise in gathering, documenting, and prioritizing business requirements.
- Competency in conducting market and competitor analyses to guide strategic decisions.
- Capability to develop comprehensive business cases, including cost-benefit analysis and ROI projections.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Excellent communication skills to facilitate clear interaction between business and technical stakeholders
- Ability to collect and analyze user feedback to inform user experience improvements.
