PulseSafety is a public safety technology startup building CommandCORE, an operations management platform for law enforcement agencies. We were founded from inside a law enforcement agency, so the product is grounded in real-world experience. But no single perspective covers everything. We're looking for a current or former law enforcement professional to serve as an advisor and bring perspective we don't have: different agency sizes, different roles, different regions, different ways of doing the job. This is a low-time-commitment advisory role, not an operational or sales position.
Tasks
- Review features and workflows in development and give candid feedback on what would work in the field and what would not.
- Serve as a sounding board on law enforcement practices, terminology, and agency operations outside the founder's direct experience.
- Share perspective on how different roles (patrol, supervisors, records staff, command, animal control, victm services, IT, etc.) would interact with the platform.
- Flag practical, policy, or cultural considerations that software builders commonly miss.
- Occasionally review marketing or product materials for accuracy and credibility with an agency audience.
- Meet with the founder on a recurring basis, typically three to four hours per month, with occasional async feedback in between.
Requirements
- Current or former sworn law enforcement experience (officer, deputy, supervisor, command staff, or comparable role).
- Current or former civilian law enforcement experience ( animal control, records officer/clerk, reception, compliance, victim services, fleet, etc.)
- Retired professionals are very welcome.
- Hands-on familiarity with day-to-day agency operations: shift work, scheduling, fleet, briefings, records, or administrative workflows.
- Willingness to give direct, honest feedback, including telling us when something is wrong or would not be used.
- Comfortable reviewing software concepts and mockups (no technical background required).
- Bonus: experience at a small to medium sized agency, in records or administrative command, or evaluating and procuring agency software.
- Bonus: experience across multiple agencies or states.
Benefits
- For active officers: we're happy to work within your agency's outside-employment policy and keep the engagement structured accordingly.
- Genuine influence over a product built for law enforcement, at the stage where your input shapes the platform itself.
- Direct collaboration with the founder, no layers in between.A flexible, low-commitment engagement built around your schedule. The opportunity to improve the tools your profession works with every day.
If this sounds like a fit, apply below with a short note about your background and why this role interests you. A resume is welcome but not required. We're equally interested in a short conversation.
