Lecten Games is an international game development studio founded by industry veterans with experience from leading gaming companies. We're currently developing our first multiplayer PC game with an ambitious vision to create high-quality, engaging gaming experiences.
Our team consists of approximately 25-30 talented professionals working remotely across four time zones. We're headquartered in Germany and pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative, creative environment.
Tasks
As a 3D Artist on our team, you will be a key driver of our game's visual identity. You’ll be responsible for the overall art direction of your assets, designing immersive environments, and taking a hands-on technical role in setting up scenes inside Unity. You will work closely with the broader development team to bring our creative vision to life from concept to engine.
Key Responsibilities
- Artistic Ownership: Responsible for the artistic quality and design of characters, props, and environments in a stylized art style.
- Environment Design: Conceptualize and build out cohesive, engaging game worlds that support gameplay and narrative.
- Unity Scene Integration: Take a lead role in setting up and dressing scenes within Unity, ensuring environments are visually stunning and technically sound.
- Asset Creation: Create high-quality 3D models, textures, and materials that define the game's look.
- Collaborative Development: Work directly with the team to ensure visual consistency and smooth integration of assets into the game loop.
- Optimization: Manage technical constraints within Unity to maintain high performance without sacrificing visual fidelity.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
Essential:
- Technical Unity Mastery: Strong technical proficiency in Unity is required. You should be comfortable with scene composition, Prefab workflows, lighting setup, and material management.
- Stylized Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating stylized 3D art and a keen eye for environment design.
- Software Mastery: Proficiency in industry-standard 3D software (Blender, Maya, 3ds Max, or similar) and texturing tools (Substance Painter, Photoshop, or similar).
- Artistic Fundamentals: Deep understanding of form, color, lighting, and composition.
- Remote Ready: Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in English within a remote environment.
Preferred:
- Background in game development specifically for PC games.
- Knowledge of rigging and animation.
- Experience with stylized/cartoon art styles.
- Experience with Unity’s Universal Render Pipeline (URP) and environment optimization techniques.
