We are CoCrafter (YC W24), a Munich-based start-up founded in 2023 with a mission to revolutionize collaboration processes in construction.

The construction industry is the backbone of the European economy but has been largely overlooked by digitization efforts. The result: inefficient processes and untapped potential.

Subcontracting is one of the most crucial processes in construction, and no large project can be realized without it. However, highly inefficient subcontracting processes lead to lost revenue and missed growth opportunities for contractors every day. This issue is further exacerbated by the ongoing labor shortage.

CoCrafter is the solution: Our platform enables contractors to find and manage subcontractors effectively—all in one place. We bring transparency and quality to a highly fragmented market.

Backed by top-tier investors, we are already helping some of the largest construction companies redefine their subcontracting processes. In 2024, we secured €1.7M in funding from Y Combinator, 10x Founders, and other investors, positioning us to scale rapidly.

We're looking for a Fullstack Engineering Working Student to join as key member of our engineering team and to build up our product in close collaboration with the founders. This hands-on role is perfect for a resourceful and adaptable individual who thrives in a startup environment and is passionate about developing innovative products.

Responsibilities

• Software Development: Learn how to build scalable, modular solutions (Typescript, Next.js, NestJS). Learn best practices how for fast but reliable software engineering.
• Product Mindset: Contribute to an exceptional user experience by developing new ideas and keeping our end-users in mind. Or with YC words: make something people want.
• Cross-functional Communication: Strong work ethic, team player, very good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and even customers.
• Techie at Heart: Be passionate about developing & implementing a diverse set of complex features while ensuring the delivery of scalable, maintainable, and performant software.

We prioritize problem-solving skills, creativity, and ambition over specific tools and technologies—those can be learned. However, the following qualifications serve as a helpful guideline for the experience we value:

• Bachelor’s degree in Informatics, Computer Science, or Business Informatics
• Experience with one or more of the following: JavaScript/TypeScript, Node.js, or React
• Hands-on coding experience, either through professional work or personal projects (e.g., GitHub contributions)
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies
• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with a proactive and curious mindset
• Fluency in English and at least B2-level proficiency in German
