Your profile

You will

• Designing and operating container-based applications
• Architect and deploy technologies for AWS cloud environments
• Taking a full ownership for the full life cycle or the requested feature
• Assessing the efficiency and performance of current applications
• Staying abreast of developments in web applications and programming languages
• Pushing for Improvements in our current applications and infrastructure
• Writing self-documented and creating understandable technical solutions
• Analyzing the business requirements and creating technical requirements based on them
• Collaborate closely with frontend teams in an agile environment
• Conduct thorough code reviews to maintain quality standards
• Own features end-to-end, providing support across development, testing, and configuration
• Troubleshooting and debugging applications You have
• 5+ years of professional backend development experience
• Possessing strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset to foster teamwork, align goals, and drive collective success.
• Profound knowledge working in projects with PHP or Python (preferred both)
• In-depth understanding of message-based systems, RESTful, API design, microservice architectures, and distributed systems
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL-based database systems and schema designs
• Familiarity with Docker and containerization
• Understanding of cloud fundamentals. Familiarity with at least one cloud provider.
• Ability to write effective tests for the developed functionality
• Ability to write clean, maintainable and understandable code with well-structured coding practices
• Being able to communicate effectively and collaborate with the team
• CI/CD pipeline design and implementation Bonus points for:
• Experience with Node.js, and Serverless functions
• Degree in computer science or a similar technical field
• Experience with Symfony Framework
• AWS Certifications
• Knowledge in Domain-Driven-Design
• Infrastructure as Code experience (Terraform, CloudFormation)

About Us

Circunomics GmbH, based in Mainz, Germany was founded in 2019. Circunomics is leading the industry by offering a comprehensive battery lifecycle management solution. Co-Founders, Felix Wagner and Jan Born, are dedicated to establishing a true circular battery economy, which in turn, maximizes each stage of battery life. Along with their team, they seek to inspire the movement of batteries from the automotive industry, to the energy sector, and finally on to recyclers who close the loop by recovering any remaining raw materials.

Circunomics has developed an AI-powered, B2B marketplace where cells, modules, and packs can be sold and purchased. Through the Circunomics Analytics product, sellers and buyers alike can obtain a detailed view of their assets. From current SoH to 2nd-life simulation, this product allows for a simpler and more profitable lifecycle management. Circunomics knows that lifecycle planning is complex, and the Battery Matchmakers are on a mission to help ease this process for their customers.

The company has been supported thus far by seed investors and business angels. Startup builder Next Mobility Labs, recycler TES, Orlen VC, and Dr. Peter Mertens (former Chief Technology Officer of Audi) are some of the key players. The Series A funding round was completed in December of 2024 with the addition of investors, Schaeffler and GET Fund.

Official expansion into the US Market transpired in January of 2025 with the hiring of Adam Willmouth who will serve as the company's US Managing Director. Circunomics looks forward to further collaboration with current US clients and to further growth within this key global market.
