About the role

You will complete our Game Development crew of 14 talented and passionate people and report to the Team Lead Frontend Games.
While this position involves contributing to general game development tasks, your primary focus will be on audio implementation for our online slot games - from integrating complex multi-layered music systems to ensuring sound effects trigger flawlessly in sync with gameplay.
Your deep understanding of audio implementation pipelines will help bring immersive, responsive, and high-quality audio experiences to life.
When not working on audio-related features, you will contribute to our broader game development efforts alongside our frontend developer team.

Responsibilities

Primary Focus – Audio Implementation

  • Lead the implementation of all in-game audio assets, including music layers, sound effects, and voiceovers, ensuring precise timing and seamless integration with gameplay.
  • Translate audio design specifications into technical game implementation, following established audio pipelines.
  • Set up dynamic and interactive audio systems (e.g., multi-layer looping music, triggered SFX, randomized sound variations).
  • Collaborate closely with the Audio Team, Game Producers, and QA to ensure audio assets meet creative, technical, and performance requirements.
  • Optimize audio performance to minimize memory and CPU usage without compromising quality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related bugs quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain and enhance the audio implementation workflow, documenting best practices for efficiency and consistency.

    Game Development & Implementation

  • Translate game design documents (GDD) into HTML5 game presentations.
  • Break down GDD features into a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and create JIRA tickets.
  • Ensure tasks are manageable within a maximum of one workweek and align with team estimates.
  • Implement game features and functionality using TypeScript (latest standard).
  • Follow best practices, ensuring well-typed and well-documented code.
  • Use JavaScript (ECMAScript) only when necessary, documented with JSDoc.

    Version Control & Code Management

  • Work with Git (GitLab as the central repository).
  • Commit code daily to feature branches and follow semantic commit conventions, including ticket IDs.
  • Submit merge requests (MR) when work is completed and defect-free.
  • Address MR feedback and escalate disputes if needed.
  • Ensure code adheres to Secure Development Principles.

    Visual & Audio Effects Implementation

  • Integrate static art, animations (Spine), image sequences, particles, and corresponding audio triggers.
  • Use libraries like PIXI.js for optimal rendering performance.
  • Collaborate with Tech Art to optimize both visual and audio assets for efficient implementation.

    Code Quality & Optimization

  • Ensure clean, well-documented, and tested code.
  • Use browser developer tools to track FPS, memory, CPU/GPU usage, and draw calls.
  • Prioritize and fix bugs with utmost urgency.
  • Maintain unit and integration test coverage.
  • Remove dead code and optimize project assets.

    Game Code Building & Delivery

  • Utilize Webpack for bundling, minification, and optimization.
  • Optimize images, text, and audio assets for a production-ready build.
  • Enhance GitLab CI for efficient deployment.
  • Ensure games are optimized for network performance (HTTP/HTTP2/HTTP3, WebSockets, etc.).

    Collaboration & Development Process

  • Work closely with Game Producers, Art Directors, Audio Designers, and QA.
  • Conduct game demos for Product Owners.
  • Address QA-reported defects quickly.
  • Follow structured development milestones:
    • Alpha – Game functions as per specification (even if assets are incomplete)
    • Beta – Full asset and audio implementation; game ready for QA testing

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in audio implementation for online games, with a deep understanding of audio pipelines, tools, and performance optimization.
  • At least 3 years of Game Development experience and 5 years overall development.
  • Fluent in TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6) and HTML5/CSS3.
  • Highly experienced with PixiJS, Phaser, or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of dynamic and interactive audio systems (music layering, adaptive audio, randomized SFX).
  • Familiarity with audio formats, compression, and streaming techniques for online games.
  • Complete fluency in English, written and spoken.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Experienced with Git, JIRA (or equivalent issue/project tracking software), and GSuite.
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Experience with Spine animations, including optimization.

Nice to have

  • Passion for creating exciting games.
  • Strong creative, problem solving, communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills.
