About the role

Booming Games is on the lookout for a talented Legal Counsel to help shape the legal landscape of our rapidly growing business. As a Legal Counsel, you will play a strategic role in ensuring our operations comply with legal and regulatory frameworks. This role reports to the Director of Legal

Responsibilities

• Monitoring and staying updated on legal and regulatory developments across various jurisdictions
• Developing and revising company policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with regulations
• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of legal documentation and contracts, including complex agreements, resolutions, letters etc
• Managing the organization's contract portfolio and ensuring contract compliance
• Handling due diligence requests and assessing legal risks associated with various transactions
• Conducting extensive research on gaming compliance and regulations in diverse global markets
• Assisting with ad hoc legal and regulatory tasks as they arise, often involving complex issues
• Providing legal support for corporate matters, including filings and interactions with regulatory bodies
• Assisting with license applications and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements in regulated markets
• Collaborating with regulatory authorities and consultants to navigate complex licensing processes
• Evaluating and mitigating legal risks associated with business operations and transactions
• Conducting internal investigations into legal and compliance matters as needed
• Collaborating closely with other team members and external legal counsel or other legal service providers effectively
• Keeping abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging legal issues relevant to the organization
• Collaborating with external stakeholders, authorities and institutions such as government agencies, industry associations, and partners, on legal and regulatory matters

Requirements

• A law degree in an EU jurisdiction (a post-graduate degree is preferred)
• 3 to 5 years PQE in a similar role (or roles) (experience with a B2B online casino game provider is preferred)
• Self-driven, able to engage management and enable risk identification as a strategic driver in growth and strategy
• Able to follow through all assigned tasks and projects to completion independently, and also to take direction and take full ownership of the responsibilities assigned
• Uphold a high standard of work ethic, always ensuring to complete all assigned tasks accurately and promptly

Good to know

• This full-time position can be a permanent employment in Malta or on a freelance basis for contractors in other countries
