Applied AI Engineer for Applied AI Startup

We are hiring a Applied AI Engineer to a leading and category-defining AI startup in the public affairs space to help scale the core product as the company enters its next phase of growth, approaching 1M EUR ARR, and looking to scale ARR 5x in 2026.

This is a hands-on, product-focused applied AI role. You will work with LLMs in production, building reliable, multi-step workflows and integrating them into the broader SaaS product. The role combines technical execution with strong product collaboration and ownership.

What You’ll Do

• Take end-to-end ownership of LLM agent features and AI workflows
• Design, build, and ship new AI-driven features from concept to production
• Improve output quality, reliability, and usability through iteration and refinement
• Collaborate closely with product, design, our customers, and commercial teams to define and evolve workflows
• Integrate AI-driven features into the broader product experience
• Balance development speed with robustness, maintainability, and cost considerations
• Identify limitations and edge cases in AI outputs and implement practical mitigations
• Stay informed on developments in LLM technology and assess when they are relevant for the product
• Our tech stack: TypeScript, Next.js, GCP and Kubernetes

What You Bring

• Experience building and shipping LLM-powered features in production
• Experience with Typescript, Next.js, GCP and Kubernetes
• Strong understanding of current LLM capabilities and limitations
• Product mindset and focus on user value, not just technical novelty
• Comfort with ownership, ambiguity, and evolving requirements
• Ability to collaborate closely with non-technical stakeholders
• Enjoyment of fast-paced startup environments
• You’re collaborative, humble, and focused on building what delivers the most value for customers
