Credit Risk & Finance Manager (f/m/d)

As a VC-funded Climate FinTech, we believe that capital is the key to accelerating the energy transition. The challenge we face is immense: by 2050, €150 trillion (!) needs to be invested globally to achieve climate neutrality. We are developing digital financing solutions for these investments in green infrastructure and hardware.

• Develop and expand our credit risk and finance division, working closely with our co-founder Jakob to drive growth and innovation.
• Manage relationships with banking partners and oversee all reporting requirements.
• Oversee portfolio management of our loan book, ensuring optimal performance and risk mitigation.
• Lead both B2C and B2B underwriting, continually enhancing our credit risk management strategies.
• Underwrite individual cases and customers, applying tailored credit risk assessments.
• Further automate and standardize credit risk management, reporting, and financial processes.
• Handle cash flow management and address various finance-related topics.
• Contribute to and negotiate deals with financial institutions to support business growth.
• Build and implement ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting frameworks.
• Prevent fraud, money laundering, and defaults, constantly improving measurement and prevention techniques.
• Assertively defend your viewpoints in team discussions, especially with the founders, standing firm on credit risk management principles and not shying away from conflict or opposition.
• Monitor and manage risks associated with our partners and third-party tech tools.
• Ensure seamless integration and management of all third-party technology tools used in finance operations.

• At least 3 years of experience in credit risk management, with a background in Banking, Finance, Accounting, or Consulting.
• Very good understanding of finance, accounting, risk assessment, and underwriting processes.
• Ideally, experience in underwriting for SMEs and households.
• Proven ability to set up structures, tools, and processes for effective credit risk and finance management.
• Strong analytical skills with an eye for detail and the ability to spot inconsistencies.
• Experience in identifying and managing fraud and default cases, with a proven track record of maintaining low default rates, would be very beneficial.
• Startup experience is a plus, ideally in Fintech or Lending companies.
• Fluent in English; German proficiency is a significant plus.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a hands-on approach, taking strong responsibility and accountability.
• Excellent communication skills, effectively conveying complex information, and highly motivated with a keen eagerness to continuously learn and adapt.
• You are passionate about sustainability and motivated to combat the climate crisis.
