Allianz Digital Health GmbH (ADH) is a Munich, Germany based subsidiary of Allianz SE.
ADH has a dual mission: Developing cloud-based software applications for Health insurance and supporting Allianz units world-wide in optimizing their Health insurance business along the value chain.
As Senior Legal Counsel & DPO, you'll be the go-to legal and privacy expert for a fast-growing digital health company — advising ADH management and teams on legal, data protection, and compliance matters, while acting as the trusted link between ADH and Allianz Group's legal, privacy, and compliance functions. You'll translate Group requirements for a non-insurance, non-regulated entity, and build strong relationships with your peers across the Group.
Tasks
Legal
- Draft, review, and negotiate IT and non-IT contracts (e.g., SaaS agreements, service agreements, consulting agreements, data processing agreements), as well as maintain and evolve ADH's standard contract templates
- Provide legal advice to ADH management and cross-functional teams, including on supplier and tool assessments and third-party risk management
- Legal advice on AI-related topics and support with corresponding assessments in connection with the use of AI at ADH
- Adapt applicable Allianz corporate rules for ADH and oversee their implementation
- Support corporate legal housekeeping
Data Privacy
- Maintain ADH's data privacy organization in line with GDPR and Allianz corporate rules
- Own ADH's records of processing activities and support impact assessments (privacy, data protection, transfer, ethical)
- Advise product owners and information security on privacy implications of new features or product changes
- Foster a data privacy culture, e.g., through the preparation and presentation of ADH-tailored privacy trainings
Compliance
- Maintain ADH's compliance management system
- Assess and implement relevant Allianz compliance programs
- Manage non-financial risks, including oversight, documentation, and testing of controls
- Monitor regulatory change, assess its impact on ADH, and support implementation
- Deliver ADH-tailored compliance trainings
Requirements
- A completed law degree (2nd German state exam, LL.M., Doctor of Laws, or European equivalent); a privacy certification (e.g., CIPP/E) is a plus
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in contract and IT law, gained at a law firm or as in-house counsel, with a focus on privacy, IT law, and regulatory matters
- Solid knowledge of AI regulation and its practical relevance for digital business processes and data processing
- Fluent English, including legal terminology
- Proven experience as a Data Protection Officer and/or Compliance Officer
- Strong track record drafting and negotiating IT contracts (SaaS, data processing, joint controller, and controller-to-controller agreements) and designing privacy/compliance policies and processes
- A target-oriented, diligent working style, comfortable operating autonomously while collaborating closely with a broader team
