Car Manager

We are looking for a reliable, organised and hands-on Car Manager to keep Arctic GM’s fleet running smoothly and ready for every tour.

You will oversee the day-to-day care and coordination of our company vehicles, ensuring they are safe, clean and well-maintained. Working closely with our guides and operations team, you will make sure the right vehicles are available when needed, coordinate servicing and repairs, and address issues before they disrupt operations. Your attention to detail and practical approach will help our guides deliver safe, seamless experiences for every guest.

• Manage the day-to-day care of our fleet, keeping company vehicles safe, reliable, clean and ready for tours.
• Carry out regular vehicle checks, monitoring condition, cleanliness, tyres, fluid levels and maintenance needs.
• Prepare vehicles for departures, ensuring they are fuelled, properly equipped and ready for the scheduled activities and weather conditions.
• Coordinate vehicle allocation with guides and the operations team, ensuring the right vehicles are available for each tour and managing changes when needed.
• Install, maintain and troubleshoot GPS tracking systems across the fleet.
• Maintain accurate vehicle records, tracking servicing, inspections, repairs and outstanding maintenance issues.
• Identify and report mechanical or technical faults promptly, ensuring unsafe vehicles remain out of service until cleared for use.
• Arrange servicing, repairs, inspections and seasonal tyre changes, planning ahead to minimise disruption to tour operations.
• Support guides with vehicle-related issues, providing practical assistance before, during and after tours.
• Respond to breakdowns and emergencies when required, providing on-site assistance where safe and coordinating roadside support, vehicle recovery or replacement vehicles.

• Good practical knowledge of vehicles and basic maintenance, with the ability to carry out routine checks, identify faults and recognise when professional repairs are needed.
• A responsible, organised and hands-on approach, with strong attention to detail and a proactive attitude towards safety and maintenance.
• A valid driving licence and confidence driving and manoeuvring company vehicles.
• The ability to work independently and remain calm under pressure, making timely, safety-focused decisions when breakdowns or unexpected issues occur.
• Flexibility to support changing operational needs, including responding to unexpected vehicle problems within agreed working hours and on-call arrangements.
• Clear communication and strong teamwork skills, working effectively with guides, the operations team and external service providers.
• Comfort working outdoors in Arctic conditions, including cold temperatures, snow and changing weather.
• Previous experience in fleet management, vehicle maintenance or a similar practical role is an advantage.
