At apeirum, we exist to turn bold visions into digital realities — with focus, sharp execution, and no waste. But what really sets us apart is how we work together:
- We stick together. No one is left alone with a tough challenge. We back each other up, share knowledge, and solve problems as a team.
- We push each other forward. Growth is part of our DNA — whether that’s learning new tech, improving processes, or challenging each other to aim higher.
- We win together. Success is collective. Every contribution matters, and every team member has a visible impact on the product and the client.
Life at apeirum is not about bureaucracy, endless meetings, or overpromising. It’s about building real solutions that last, learning constantly, and having the autonomy to do your best work. You’ll find space to experiment, colleagues who’ve got your back, and leadership that values transparency and trust.
Currently we are seeking support for our client, an innovative start-up to build the factories of tomorrow. They’re redefining “smart” for manufacturing SMEs with Industrial IoT, data, and cloud solutions—moving from visibility, to optimization, to AI-driven decision support.
In this role you’ll design and implement services that connect real factory systems (IoT, ERP, MES) with scalable cloud components. You’ll make sure our solutions run reliably in production: clean code, CI/CD, observability, and pragmatic use of AI where it adds value. We value engineers who are self-driven, collaborative, and transparent (“I don’t know yet—let’s figure it out together” beats over-promising).
Location: Spain (remote-first). Preference for North of Spain (Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria, Basque Country). No profiles outside Spain. Occasional travel to Switzerland and within Spain.
Process: Intro → team chat → tech deep-dive → short practical → final chat.
Tasks
- Build and maintain backend services & APIs in Python and C# (.NET).
- Integrate with IoT/ERP/MES systems and cloud components (Azure preferred).
- Set up and improve CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments, and monitoring.
- Ensure observability (logging, tracing, metrics) and production readiness.
- Collaborate closely with domain experts and teammates to turn prototypes into stable, maintainable products.
- Contribute to architecture discussions and bring a pragmatic devops mindset.
- Experiment with AI/LLM components where useful, but keep the focus on robust engineering.
IN YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS YOU MIGHT
- Ship a small Python or C# service that connects to an ERP/MES system.
- Set up CI/CD pipelines and monitoring for a new production component.
- Deploy a cloud-native service with proper authentication and alerting.
- Support adding an AI-powered workflow only if it solves a clear customer problem.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of software engineering experience (or equivalent impact).
- Strong skills in Python and/or C#/.NET; experience shipping APIs/services.
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure preferred), Docker, and CI/CD.
- Solid understanding of SQL databases; familiarity with NoSQL or streaming/event systems is a plus.
- Knowledge of observability (tracing, logging, metrics) and production troubleshooting.
- Self-driven, outcome-oriented, and transparent communicator.
- Language: English (min. C1).
NICE TO HAVE
- Microservices development experience (e.g. Dapr, Kafka, Redis).
- Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) workflows or vector search integration.
- Exposure to industrial/edge tech (OPC UA, MQTT), time-series data, or IoT.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Terraform, or infrastructure as code.
- Basic knowledge of AI/LLMs and when to use them (but not mandatory).
- German language skills.
Benefits
HOW WE WORK (AND WHY IT’S FUN)
- Pragmatic engineering: Use AI where it adds value, but don’t overcomplicate.
- Small team, big ownership: Autonomy, clear goals, direct customer impact.
- Real industry impact: Your code reduces waste, saves energy, and makes factories more resilient.
BENEFITS
- 23 days of holidays
- Learning budget (courses/conferences)
- Top-tier hardware
- Flexible hours & remote work
- Occasional travel to Switzerland and within Spain
- Yearly strategic off-site
READY TO MAKE AN IMPACT?
We’re looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, innovation-driven environment — adaptable, curious, and eager to solve real problems with smart, modern tools.
Send your CV and 1–2 links (GitHub, demo, or write-up of a service you built).
No perfect match? If you bring strong Python/C# fundamentals and curiosity about cloud/IoT systems, we still want to hear from you.
