About Us
We’re on a mission to make taxes effortless for everyone. Backed by top-tier investors, we’re building a platform that empowers fintechs, banks, and tax advisors to launch powerful tax features for their end users with just a few lines of code.
The Role
To drive this vision, we’re seeking an experienced Full-Stack Software Engineer (TypeScript) who has a passion for building products from the ground up, owning them end to end, across the stack. You'll be part of our core tech team that will lay the foundation of our platform and is driven by low hierarchies and high impact. We're headquartered in Berlin, offering a remote-friendly environment.
The Opportunity
In this role, you will:

Actively shape the platform’s architecture and influence key product decisions.

Build the backbone of a tax infrastructure that will make taxes easier for all Europeans.

Enable fintechs to offer and create their own tax tools by integrating our system.

Tasks

Your Responsibilities

Hands-on Ownership: Take full ownership of designing, implementing, and scaling the foundation of our platform from scratch.

Architect & Execute: Make key architectural decisions and build scalable systems that are robust, reliable, and maintainable under load.

Feature Delivery: Ship new features at high velocity without compromising code quality, reliability, or performance.

Culture Building: Play a key role in fostering a high-performing, collaborative engineering culture as we scale the team.

Requirements

Experience We’re Looking For
Strong technical background with 5+ years of full-time engineering experience, preferably across the following tech stack:

Backend Development: Solid experience with Nest.js (or Express.js) and designing scalable RESTful or GraphQL APIs. Strong knowledge of authentication (JWT, OAuth2) and event-driven architectures (Kafka, WebSockets).

Frontend Development: Strong proficiency in React, Next.js, and TypeScript. Familiarity with state management libraries (Redux, Zustand) and modern styling (TailwindCSS, Styled Components).

Database Management: Expertise in PostgreSQL, schema design, query optimization, and ORMs like Prisma.

Cloud Infrastructure (Nice to Have): Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Run, Functions), CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions), Docker, and Kubernetes.

While these would be ideal, please also apply if you’re not covering all aspects - we’re trusting you to pick up what’s needed quickly!
Who We're Looking For
This role is ideal for a seasoned engineer eager to join a well-funded company at its early stages where most of the product is still to be built. You’ll be a strong match if:

You excel in autonomy, taking ownership of the details, and have a strong ability and drive to manage your own projects and work from start to finish

You prefer focused building and coding time over meetings and love being productive, and shipping high-quality code

You’re excited to be part of a high-performing team, surrounded by talented peers who will challenge you to grow and are ready to tackle the ambitious road ahead

Bonus points

Knowledge of one or more programming languages such as Go or Kotlin

Good understanding or experience with microservice architecture, as well as experience with high-loaded systems

Previously worked in fintech projects or startups.

Experience in building products in regulated industries like payroll, fintech, or tax or had projects where you build a tax solution

Experience in building embedded/white-label software products

Benefits

What We Offer

Impact from Day One: Your code will power tax tools used by financial institutions across Europe.

High-Performance Team: Work with an ambitious, talented team that care about the result and will challenge you to grow.

Hybrid/Remote Freedom: Enjoy the flexibility of a hybrid/remote work model, with an office hub in Berlin and options for remote work.

Career Growth: Experience fast career growth as you help build the engineering organization you’ve always wanted to be part of.

Creative Freedom: Have the ability to implement your own ideas and have real impact.

Learning Budget: Access a learning budget to support your professional development.

Please note: This position requires a valid work permit for Germany at the time of application. We are currently unable to offer visa sponsorship or relocation support.
